I have never in my life been more disappointed with a place that refers to themselves as a creole cuisine.I ordered Fried Catfish and Shrimp. I have never been served Catfish Nuggets and it taste like it was Frozen and pre-battered. I am so grossed out rightnow. I will never come back.#CreoleAtAll

I was kind of disappointed when I ate here. Everything just seemed so...average? I've had better beignets from Popeye's lol. The j*** and bourbon chicken was just so boring and didn't give me the same pop of flavors that I was expecting. I understand that this is a fusion-esque restaurant, but it feels like creole food for people who don't know creole food. You're probably better off going to a hole-in-the-wall/mom-and-pop spot for something more authentic. The staff was really nice and the plantains are great.

This hit the spot!! From the amazing service to the flavorful food. Everything was fresh and seasoned to perfection. The only down side is that I don't have a location closer to me LOL But a trip to riverside is worth it for this food.

So.. I wish they were more consistent. they are mostly always sold out of Beignets. they wait time from ordering to getting JUST beignets is pretty long but they are very good first time they were delicious. Second sold out of dipping sauces and alittle over cooked. And last night sold out again of beignets. They staff is never friendly and act like they just want to go home.

DELICIOUS. I cannot express the happiness I experienced at discovering this gem @ the food lab in Riverside. Just go. Don't take my word for it....go. Reasonable price for the amount of food received. I always have to get the combo plate because I can never decide on one.

The beignets are a warm and fluffy treat that perfectly pairs with a chilly night. A sweet treat made fresh everytime!

It's not often I find a spot to try Creole food, so when I saw this spot at RFL, I had to find something to try. The menu is surprisingly large, and I was really torn between the seafood combo poboy, shrimp & grits, and the Jambalaya fries -- I let my husband choose and he opted for the fries ($16). The portion was massive and the fries were loaded with shrimp, chicken and sausage jambalaya with heaps of melted cheese. I expected a bit more kick and flavor to the sauce, but everything was tasty. I do like that there was a good amount of peppers and onions in this so it wasn't just straight protein and cheese. The fries themselves almost seemed to be an afterthought though, as there was so much loaded on top of them - not necessarily a bad thing, as this dish really seemed to be a good value. This dish was very rich and portion size is definitely something to share - we overindulged and I felt grossly full afterward in the car. But that's entirely on me.

I ate at Dhat Creole Grill a few weeks ago when dropping my son off for his freshman year at UC Riverside. Coming from the South, I have high expectations for "Southern-Inspired" food whenever I travel and Dhat Creole Grill did not disappoint! I had the Bourbon Chicken w/ Red Beans & Rice and the Beignets....OMG those Beignets were absolutely delicious...Honestly I didn't even finish my Bourbon Chicken because I was eating the Beignets! I will definitely be eating here whenever I'm in Riverside. (Hopefully I can get my son to bring me some beignets when he comes home for Thanksgiving!) And the service was exceptional. Janae was so nice and showed me true Southern Hospitality during my visit. We so need Dhat Creole Grill in Charlotte, NC!! (Or ATL)

I liked it. Met up with the IE fam for lunch. Located inside the Riverside Food Lab. Inside the food court gets pretty crowded so seating can be tough to find. I got the j*** & bourbon chicken combo. It was good! Loved the j*** chicken, a nice blend of spices and flavor. The bourbon chicken is just ok though so I say skip that one. The red beans and rice and fried plantains were good. Filling portion, this low-key fatty approves. Will definitely be coming back to try more. Service was good. Friendly staff. Plenty of parking in the structure next to the food court.

We were in the Riverside Food Lab after a recommendation from my coworker and while browsing through all the restaurants, this one spoke out to me because it's been a good while since I've had a good j*** chicken. Here's what we ordered: ****** Chicken w/ Black Beans: The chicke was cooked perfectly and the seasoning was spot on. I wish there was more of the mac but the veggies were delicious and so were the plantains. Everything was piping hot and absolutely flavorful. (5/5) **Jambalaya Fries: Very delicious. There was a large serving of a variety of protein including a good amount of shrimp on a bed of fries. The sauce was really good as well. (5/5) This place is absolutely delicious and the service we received was great as well. You're able to walk around the area after you order because they'll give you one of those buzzing devices.

Drive 40 minutes to get beignets for a small party. Told I could only get 1 order at a time and had to wait 15 minutes between orders. Told we can’t overwhelm the kitchen and there was only 1 person waiting for food. Very disappointed. They should change this policy.Update. It took 5 minutes to get the order and they were gracious to let me order a second. ?‍♂️ Guess they kitchen isn’t overwhelmed.Update. While typing my update the second order came out. I’m so confused about the kitchen capacity.

Ordered side of red beans and rice. Definitely not red beans and rice that I got that they are selling as such.No flavor. I got a side of it, tried it and threw in the trash.

So over the past weekend, my partner and I attended the Riverside Anime Convention. While we were at the convention, we got hungry and decided to go to Riverside Food Lab and found this spot! There was no line when we got to Dhat Creole Grill and decided to order the J*** Chicken, Bourbon Chicken plate and the Beignets of course! The food took about 15 minutes to be prepared and all the food was delicious especially the Beignets! I did think the food was a little over-priced though.
