I tend to go for their breakfast, which is always super fresh and flavorful; they use real ingredients and the food tastes like a good home cooked meal. The prices are super reasonable, and the portion sizes are generous. Loved this place! The atmosphere is relaxed and comfortable. They had music playing over the jukebox which was nice. Staff was super friendly and very helpful. I ordered two carnitas tacos and two birria tacos and both were delicious. The horchata tasted supper fresh and was perfectly cold. Price was extremely reasonable if not cheap for the caliber of food.

There is a huge difference between food cooked using oil, and food cooked using rendered fat or “MANTECA”. If you are not familiar with the difference then it can be hard to understand or even imagine the incredible difference that it makes.
For a conoseur like me it is important that establishments like this are preserved just the way they are. There is something intangible but so clear here, you can feel it in the air and taste the difference.

great place. everything i tasted was very tasty. coffee, my favorite kind. salsa and chips great. rancho huevos had one of the best sauces i have tasted. the corn tortillas was as good as a 60 year old southern californian has ever had. service was as good as the food. when i return to riverside, i will make sure to come in the morning for another stellar breakfast.
