Walked into this gem and host was kind enough to accommodate our party of 2 without a reservation. We had venison and a trio of appetizers. Amazing food , kind staff esp Carlos our waiter. Best restaurant in riverside

Bring my parents for dinner. The food is not as good as before. The pasta is not restaurant quality. Risotto is a bit too hard. Very disappointed.

Amazing experience, from service to ambiance the entire evening was wonderful. The only thing to surpass the excellent food was the wonderful service from the wait staff.

Came in for our anniversary and had a lovely experience. All the staff were very lovely, especially our server Thomas. Prices were extremely fair, and everything was delicious!

I made reservations for 4 to celebrate my friend’s birthday dinner at Mario’s. We were pleasantly surprised! The food was so yummy and exceeded our expectations. Pizza, bolognese, salad, bread, steak - all 5/5. Everyone was friendly and the place was clean. We had an odd experience with our waitress, hence the 4/5. She was nice, but she wasn’t very helpful or attentive. We were tended to more by the other staff. Initially, we ordered 4 gimlets, but only one of us enjoyed it. I felt bad because it was my friend’s birthday and didn’t want her to drink something she didn’t enjoy. I asked our waitress if we can change our drinks and she seemed to have taken it a bit too personally. She even made a point to say “well one of you drank more than half” - which I then let her know yes, SHE enjoyed hers but the rest of us didn’t. It almost felt like we were drinking a Margherita pizza flavored beverage. We replaced it with margaritas, but those weren’t too enjoyable either. Perhaps just stick to the food and not the bar items here. After we were done eating and the table had been cleared by the busboy, our waitress came to ask us if everything was okay. We had to ask her for the dessert menu because it wasn’t offered. Just overall, an odd odd vibe. But hey, good food

I took my boyfriend here for his birthday. It was just what I hoped. Perfect date night atmosphere and excellent service. Food was delicious although I wish they offered a bit more on the menu. They did have certain special food not on the menu, I guess it changes every day. I had mushroom ravioli since lots of people said it's yummy. It was really good. My man got some tomato beef pasta dish I forgot the name he liked it too. And we shared a clam pizza(special item) and it was delicious. If you're looking for a more elevated dinning experience without spending a fortune this is the place to be!

They are alway so friendly, from the maitre' d to the bus servers. We were late and had to re-adjust our reservation 2x because of horrendous traffic delays BUT they assured us it was no problem and saved our favorite table. :) The pastas were both too heavy. The oxtail ragu was not good. Very tender but blah, greasy.. and the pasta was undercooked. The pasta ala checca was too saturated with way too much sauce and cheese. Bread which is normally fauous was a little stale and not very warm. The trio of sampler desserts was wonderful,. Tangerine sorbet, caramel uodding, homemade kitkat. We'll goback becaus eofthe serviec and ambiance but will try somethig different for food. (Last time had the wild mushroom ravioli...terrific)
Mario's has consistently great food. Mushroom Risotto and Salmon are wonderful along with their other food. You can't get a bad meal here in Riverside from Chef Leone. Wine list is very good as well.

Got dressed up, so looking forward to going to my beloved Mario’s for calamari, dinner and drinks, Saturday, January 3, 2026.
Double checked the hours on their website. Took an Uber, got there at 5 PM and it was dark and closed. The festival of lights does not end until 1/6. I understand needing time off after the crazy busy holidays, however, PLEASE UPDATE YOUR WEBSITE TO REFLECT THAt & NOT INCONVENIENCE THE PEOPLE THAT SUPPORT YOU.!

Greg is the man. Mario’s Place saved our New Year’s Eve date night out, after first stopping at Bella Trattoria. The music was too loud, but the food was incredible and the service was amazing.

Calamari is always on point! Main reason we go there got two orders last night extra crispy was bomb. They also had a dessert trio which was amazing for $12. You can't beat it. The vibe is always good. Very lively good to go with family or friends that like the upbeat vibe, love the dim lighting in there.
One of our favorite girls night spots. The mushroom ravioli is a must try. Drinks are perfect and the bartenders are so fun!

We were in a small room next to a party that was very loud. Will never go back unless guaranteed to not be put in the small room. There was plenty of room in the main dining room. My mother in law couldn't hear a thing her family was saying. It was such a disappointment to be getting together with family, but unable to hear them.
