We really enjoyed our lunch at Las Campanas today. Weather was beautiful. The ambience is beautiful, food and drinks spot on, and Ivan, our server was absolutely the best!
The food was good as usual but we sat for 2 hours and15 minutes waiting well over 10 minutes multiple times for chips, water refills, drink refills etc. We had a reservation and a party of 8 got there and sat 30 minutes after us and was done 45 minutes before us. We paid $23 for table side guacamole that wasn't table side and then had to wait 15 minutes for chips to be refilled so we had guacamole and no chips. Awful service and they weren't short staffed. Other tables were getting served. Party of 8 so I was nice and paid the exorbitant tip but that's the downside to the automatic tip... the waiter was well paid for very bad service. It will be awhile before I eat there again.
Great ambiance in the Historic Mission Inn...great family experience or romantic dinner...it's all great! Great service and very good food.
Ambience and service were good but food was mediocre at best. Lunch fish tacos were salty and poorly breaded. Carnitas were decent. Too pricey for the quality. We won't return unfortunately.
The restaurant wasn't busy but it took quite a while to receive our food. Party of six. Overpriced but it's a very nice location inside The Mission Inn.
Beautiful outdoor patio in a lovely historic plaza. Our waiter Ivan was very attentive and accommodating with us. The food was very good and I really enjoyed the margarita drink and flan dessert.
Las Companas is a beautiful place. We have been going there since it opened. The menu seems to be shrinking in options and the food is acceptable if increasingly somewhat overpriced. The staff, from the hostess who greets you to your waiter, is in serious need of training on the importance of eye contact, smiling and pleasant communication. It was as if we were interrupting them by being there. We almost left before ordering. With all the new dining options in downtown Riverside, I will think twice before going back. It's really a shame!
This restaurant is nice to come to for the ambiance. The food Is decent. You can get much, much better Mexican food at any number of restaurants around town. It's pricey but you're paying to eat at a five star hotel. We had reservations and had to wait about 5 minutes before anyone came around to notice us and the hostess looked a little annoyed. Bad day maybe? Our server, however was very attentive and efficient. Our food was brought out timely and hot. I had the steak fajitas and they were average in taste, nothing special. Portion size was plenty. They came with a side of rice, beans, guacamole, and sour cream. We had to ask for more tortillas as there was not enough.
The beans and rice were not so good but the tacos were great! The service was fantastic and the atmosphere was wonderful. We went on off hours so not alot of people there . I do recommend the restaurant but it is pricey.

You can tell a lot about a Mexican restaurant by their refried beans. These tasted like they came out of a can. Tortillas store bought. My wife ordered the Asada sopes. The meat looked like it had been overcooked or cooked multiple times. The Sopes were also full of grease, almost like they came out of the frier and not properly dried. Service and ambiance were good.

I was very excited to visit this restaurant because of its high reviews. However, when I was here the food did not live up to all of my expectations. I feel that for the amount of food and the taste the food was not worth the high price. Overall the food was tasty but not the best I've had. One thing that is vital for this restaurant is placing a reservation beforehand.

The restaurant is lovely and is part of the Mission Inn Hotel. Food is very good and our server, Michael, was knowledgeable and attentive. But when you’re not drinking alcohol , $80 (pre-tip) is pretty high for Mexican food at lunch, for 2 people.
