Love the chocolate gel macaroons. And the lemon(?) ones. And I hate coconut so that's saying something. All the other tartlettes were pretty amazing. The egg custard tarts are pretty and I think this is the Portuguese-style of filling: a little chewier, more texture. Asian bakeries shoot for super light with lard in the pastry which also makes it light. But I quibble. So glad the wifey discovered these guys. Gonna buy out a shelf of something for friends back home. Really great product, you guys!

They have just about everything Portugese and some Brazilian food too.

The coconut flans and eclairs are my personal favorites! Always fresh and very affordable; the quality is always amazing and super good! Not too sweet! :)

This was our first time and we will be back. We love all the item we got. Light and flaky pastries so good!

Love 9 Island Bakery! I enjoy the classic Portuguese sweet bread, both the big bread and the small sandwich bread. And another favorite is the toasted bread! Not sure what's called. But it's great! Another favorite is the pastries! Should I really go on! A hidden gem.

Sonoma County gem! Outstanding bakery and great place to load up on your chouriço and São Jorge cheese needs!

I've seen this place often, but only recently woke up early enough to go. As everyone suggested, go when they open since their stuff sells fast! Everything is extremely cheap by bakery standards, and tastes so good! Nothing is too sweet, and each bite introduces you to new flavor combinations or textures. If you can wake up early, definitely try it!!!

This place is one of a kind. My husband's Portuguese uncle turned us onto their cheese & it was well worth every penny.

Wish they had more than just a few of everything. Excellent!

I very much really like this place. I don't buy everything in the bakery. I started going to this bakery years ago and wanted to bring my spouse. My ex will never get to taste anything from this bakery. Too bad for my ex. This bakery is small but their assortments are tasty.. (now exspouse due to an unethical law firm that caused so much trouble they caused us to lose a 100% cash offer with a 30 day close of escrow that needed to be done based on parameters that the buyer wanted and the law firm made it impossible. They were too controlling. The offer was made prior to any realtor hired. And, the attorney who owned the law firm caused the offer that was acceptable to be withdrawn because the buyer was not responded to by the 2nd owner on the property that the attorney was manipulating)

I decided to travel a long distance to try this Portuguese bakery for the first time and ended up being happy with my decision. They had sweet bread, Sumol and some other things I was looking for and the prices were great! The biggest areas for improvement were the display case which was lacking a lot of pastries and the selection of groceries (ex: they only had one brand of marmalada and it's made in Spain, not Portugal). Fix these and I'll give 5 stars!

Great Portuguese pastries that you won't find anywhere else. Some Portuguese frozen grocery items, too. Family-run, and they only sell what they can bake on premises; to be sure of getting what you want, go in a day before and order ahead.

Do it! Pasties de Natal are on point. They sell pastries, sweet bread, linguica, and products from the Azores! I love it!

I thought the service was mediocre. Not hostile but not welcoming. For a small bakery you'd think it would be friendlier. Just my 2 cents.

The place is tiny, and when we went (around 11am on Wednesday) the display case was mostly empty. Maybe we needed to go earlier in the day, but the selection was severely limited. We got two Portuguese egg tarts, and one popover. The egg tarts were ok. They are quite small, can eat it in 2 bites. They were also quite cold. The popover was really big and less than $1, but after a couple bites was pretty bland. Service wasn't very friendly either.
