Wife got sick from the salmon, throwing up all day. My scallops were mid. The ceasar salad needs capers or anchovies
This was an excellent place to meet a friend and have a quiet talk by a fire. The night we went was very quiet. Sadly, they were having some issues with their ownership and their liquor license is not valid at the moment so we went to have a glass of wine, but I had to buy our own and bring it in. It was lovely though and the food was great. Special shout out to Shawna our server who was lovely.
What's a picky kid going to eat? Or someone with dietary restrictions?
Just seems weird not to offer a kids' menu on Christmas Eve.

Wonderful Christmas Eve dinner. With our extended family. Food was excellent wait staff was attentive quick and efficient. Prime rib was great and the presentation was beautiful. S thumbs up for the Doubletree and Hilton.
A surprisingly good place for a quiet dinner. The salad with heart of palm was a bit unusual, and we liked it and would get again, but its not a conventional green salad. The duck breast was excellent. The bouillabaisse was good, but they lost confidence by adding sriracha mayo on toast when not needed. Chocolate torte was good. Wine way too expensive.
Came for Thanksgiving dinner. Food taste like it came from a can, but priced as house made. Desserts were fine.
The black cod with uni sauce was absolutely amazing — rich, buttery, and perfectly cooked! I also loved the squash — such a unique and flavorful pairing. The service was friendly, and the atmosphere was cozy and welcoming. Can’t wait to come back!

Food was absolutely delicious and I’m picky! We had wagyu burger, udon soup, bouabaise, chicken wings and wedge salad. So freaking good. Great price. Surprising quality for a hotel!

My wife and I have stayed at the DoubleTree in Sonoma Wine Country long enough to work our way through every item on the breakfast menu at Bacchus Restaurant & Wine Bar. For this review, I can only speak to the breakfast experience—but what an experience it has been!
First and foremost, the service is exceptional. Every single morning we’ve been greeted with warm, friendly, and attentive staff who strike the perfect balance of professionalism and hospitality. They’re fast, consistent, and make you feel welcome every time. It truly elevates the whole experience and keeps us excited to come back day after day.
As for the food, let me start with the standouts:
The Zio Finnochio – This breakfast sandwich is nothing short of sensational. The homemade sausage patty is packed with flavor, the egg is cooked just right, and the balance of tomato, onions, and greens ties it all together beautifully. I’ve ordered it four times already, and it’s been perfect every single time. My #1 recommendation.
Blueberry Waffle – Outstanding. Perfectly sweet, flavorful, and filling. The touch of powdered sugar and basil salt takes it over the top. The first time we had it was absolute perfection—crisp, airy, and unforgettable. Even when it’s come out slightly less crisp, it’s still been a winner every time.
Chilaquiles Verde – Delicious and deeply flavorful, especially when the chips are kept crisp. When executed just right, it’s easily one of the best dishes on the menu.
Biscuits & Gravy (side order) – Don’t let the “side” designation fool you. For $9, you get a small plate of absolute heaven. The gravy is top-shelf—creamy, savory, and perfectly seasoned—topped with green onions and crispy bacon bits. Stunning.
Now, to be fully transparent, there are a couple of dishes that fell a little short for us:
The Breakfast Burrito can be hit-or-miss depending on the cook. The first time my wife ordered it, she loved it. The second time, however, it leaned too heavily on eggs, wrapped in a tortilla that didn’t do the filling justice.
The Bagel & Lox didn’t quite match my personal preference—I like the classic three-ingredient approach (bagel, cream cheese, lox). Bacchus’ version adds capers, onions, and greens, which many will enjoy, but for me it’s reinventing a wheel that doesn’t need reinventing.
The “Big Country” sandwich (country-fried steak on bread with gravy, pickled onions, and greens) was a swing and a miss for us. We expected a traditional country-fried steak plate, and the creative twist didn’t quite land.
That said, even the dishes that weren’t our favorites are far from “bad”—they’re simply overshadowed by the brilliance of the standout items. The biggest challenge here is consistency across different cooks. When it’s good, it’s phenomenal; when it’s off, it can feel like a completely different dish.
Overall though, Bacchus is a gem. Between the warm service, quiet-yet-lively ambiance, and a menu that has some true knockout dishes, it’s a place we look forward to every morning of our stay. If you’re staying at the DoubleTree—or even if you’re just in the area—do yourself a favor and enjoy breakfast here.

We are staying here for a few days and went to Bacchus for breakfast 2 times . The foods not great and each time our food was cold and took forever to get . There was only a few folks at another table and still 30 min. wait . The salmon lox on a bagel was ok .The chicken fried steak sandwich was really gross ..Fried egg and toast the next time ... .

We were staying at the Doubletree so we decided to try the Bacchus restaurant. Our dinner was delicious, the wait staff was very friendly and our food came very quickly. We had spicy shrimp pasta, cheeseburger and fish and chips (which was giant). We also had breakfast one morning and our experience was the same, good service, quick and very tasty.
Shocked to see sub-4 stars...
Fantastic staff and recommendations, curry salmon was fuego, short rib gnocchi delish. Paired with a fantastic old vine Zin, superb. And would've been a sub $75 date of it weren't for the bottle 😀💜
Very upset. Made reservation here because I wanted somewhere with a spot secure. Arrived today, on Easter, and was told that they were closed at 11 and there was no way that I had reservations. Showed the hostess and she said oh that should have been canceled. Sorry! We are closed. And walked away. It is Easter everywhere is packed and we were not able to go anywhere without at least an hour to 2 wait. Very disappointed. Will NEVER try to go back.
Enjoyed Coconut curry Salmon.
