Excited about the reviews I stopped here to grab lunch but could not stomach the beef brisket soup. The beef itself had a lot of tendons, the sauce was jelly like and greasy, seasoned very strong with something earthy that my taste buds (and nostrils) did not appreciate. Decided to stick to only noodles with broth, but the noodles ended up tasting like a poorly cooked ramen from a $1 package. The broth was.. OK. Unfortunately very disappointing.

If you’re looking for a quick spot to grab food and drinks. This is the spot! Their food comes out pretty quick. Their portions are very generous. I got the beef noodle soup, it was a bit too oily for me but flavor was there. Their drink menu is a lot cheaper than the other spots. If you want to grab to go, I’d suggest to call in because there’s a lot of other people grabbing it to go! This spot will fill up rather quickly around noon.

Fried Combination, Crispy Pork Chop with Rice, Satay Squid Think Soup with Noodles, Wonton Egg Noodle Soup, Taiwanese Beef Stew w/ Noodles, and Taiwanese Meat Ball were among the dishes we ordered. All of the meals was bland and so-so. There was just one person working in the front, although it was quite busy, and it seems that this restaurant needs more staff.

3 stars for flavor, but 4 stars for valuePork belly over rice $3.75/small!was good, but not great. I'm prolly biased, but I added some fish sauce to the dish when I got home and it was JUST LIKE Vietnamese caramelized pork. Amazing value for $3.75! Def meal sized. I didn't come with any pickled veggies, was a bit bummed but alas.Popcorn chicken $5.45ishSizeable amount for two people, pretty standard. Didn't come as medium spice as requested, and didn't have any basil leaves...they do give you cayenne pepper on the side to add to your heart's desire.I'd come back just to have food for the week when I don't feel like cooking. They also had a bunch of frozen food available too, which is always handy. Intestine soup and pretty varied menu for less than $12 which is kinda hard to find these days. They take card if you spend a certain amount:)

Affordable Taiwanese beef noodles. One of the few places that actually keep the price low. Quality is not bad

Today was an exciting day - I found comparable braised pork rice to Taiwan! A place I can take my parents I don't have to give caveats to (I noticed when I was there she has bawan for sale also, can't wait to try). It was only $9.50 and will easily be two meals for me, plus the best tangy pickled mustard greens I may have ever had in my life. The salt and pepper squid was so good and night market perfect. I'm not usually in the area but will make the effort for sure.

This hole in the wall is run by this auntie. She runs the front, she runs the back, and she makes sure your food comes to you fast and delicious. She talks a lot, and in a good way. This business reminded me of the street food I used to get in the motherland in Taiwan. She talks loud and welcomes you, but to find her you'll have to wait because she is all over the place. But once you're lucky to get her, you make sure she gets your order. The menu here reminds me of some child friendly restaurant. The menu is taped down, colorful, and is in both English and Chinese. It has check boxes, which is counter-intuitive because there are no markers around and again, the menu is taped down. The sight into the kitchen is covered by boxes of what looks like coffee they sell. That is the same way she can only see if someone is in the front. So when I got the food to-go, I waited. After I ordered I waited. But waiting is part of the covid process nowadays. Restaurants are short staffed and I wouldn't want any hold in the wall to be out of business. Hence, I support a NEW local at least once a week. But when you look at the prices, you can see it's budget friendly. Almost starving college friendly, if you ask me. Drinks around $3 and food less than $10? Are you kidding me? I live 30 minutes away and I'm definitely coming back soon! I bought some of my childhood favorites. Braised pork with rice (comes with 2 sides) , crispy pork chop with rice (also comes with 2 sides), popcorn chicken a la cart, and salt and pepper squid a la cart. First of all, you probably think all I eat is fried food from the choices above. You're kind of right, because I hate frying food inside my house. I'd be more than happy to pay someone to fry my food. Their seasoning for the fried food all tastes the same. So next time, I'd probably skip the salt and pepper squid because it almost tastes like popcorn chicken. Has a hint of 5 spice and a bit of heat and sweetness. It tastes exactly like what I used to eat at the night market in Taiwan. It is f*ckin delicious. The braised pork with rice has tons of sauce poured over it. I always hate it when I buy this dish and it comes out dry. Well, it's not and it's delicious. The crispy pork chop is also the five spice blend. All of their fried items has this rich, deep garlicky marinade. I cannot tell you how good everything was. Oh, and the wait was less than 10 minutes from the time I ordered. It was fast when I got home, everything was still hot. Their side pickled greens is probably one of the best I've had.

This place has very good price for the quality of comfort food you get. There are some seasonal items that hit the right spot. I recommend the sesame oil chicken soup with thin noodle for a cold winter night or a chilled noodle with peanut sauce for hot summer days. The cooking is authentic that brought back warm memories.

Ordered food to pickup so I didn't sit inside, but overall the food was quite good (unfortunately I forgot to take pictures). We ordered the beef noodle soup, crispy pork chop rice with rice, and popcorn chicken. The beef was really tender and the soup was pretty flavorful. The crispy pork chop came with some braised pork too on the rice but the pork was okay, a bit tough. The crispy pork chop and the popcorn chicken though were excellent, especially for the price! The three things added up to be $25 total which is honestly not bad considering we also had leftovers. I would definitely come again!

This is the second time that I have come here for their amazing $10 braised pork belly entrée #21! If you don't come here, you are missing out! I am not 100% sure, but this might be cash pay only. Don't forget to tip and keep this place in business...because their braised pork belly is one of the best!

3.5-4 stars for food 3 stars for service Surprised I've never written a review for BreadFish, even though we've been customers for years. Small hole in the wall, Taiwanese restaurant. Our favorite entrees are the Braised Pork w/ Rice and the Crispy Pork Chop w/ Rice. It is Taiwanese comfort food at its best. Not for those on a diet. Sometimes the quality of the side dishes are questionable but I guess if you finish them all in one day/meal, it won't be a problem. But if you plan on saving some for the next day or so, make sure to check the freshness first. I love how they also include Taiwanese Pickled Mustard Greens Relish with the dishes. My favorite! If you call ahead to order for pick-up, best of luck if you call like 20-30 minutes before they close because they did not answer. Parking is always aplenty.

This is a very very nice and friendly place to enjoy all kind of Taiwanese food. Front workers looked like young part-time students with shy smiles and humble welcomes The Pork Chop is the best one of their best; fried Tofu is good for vegetarian and really tasty. Beef noodle soup always is perfect and we clean up the whole soup every time! Cold drinks and deserts are good too! Our children and their friends always asked for visiting this store when they got back to LA from college. Friends from out of state or from Taiwan, this place is our first one on list to show them and they haven't had anything that they didn't like. Reasonable price and comfort place with yummy foods you couldn't find any other place.

Comfort food at its best. Its cheap, delicious and filling. I've tried many things here - Pork Chop, Popcorn Chicken, Braised Pork, Pork Feet and I honestly cannot complain about anything. Definitely better than Monja.
