Food was decent but the service was beyond awful and non-existent. Noodles took more than 45 minutes to come out from the kitchen even though there were only two tables, and the guy working there was very rude with his responses. Also, they poured water into a cup on the counter and told me to go to the counter to get it. Definitely didn't tip a single cent here

The Asian man in glasses who seemed to be the owner kept coughing or sneezing in our food when he left it on the order counter. And didn't even serve

This is Shun Cheung Ip. I am the waiter you mentioned. I think my service is very good. Since you said so, don’t come to our restaurant to eat next time. If you are not satisfied, you can go to my boss. There is no need to be here. Talking nonsense and making random comments

TL;DRTHE WORKER ASKED ME TO PAY TIPS HERE WHEN THEY PROVIDED NO SERVICE.Had been to this place 3 times before today. This would be the last time I ate here. Their signature beef noodle soup is pretty good that's why I came back but today, their service was awful. They were supposed to open at 5pm today. We arrived at 5:05pm, and the door was locked. We were about to leave after waiting for 5mins but we went to the back door and saw a worker at the kitchen. As soon as he saw us, he opened the door for us and immediately called the dude who "served" us later to come. That guy was nice but the person who showed up 10mins later, not so much.Asian guy with glasses came in, did not ask us if we were ready to order until we waved him down. Instead of going to our table to take our order like any normal person would do, he stayed at the counter. We had to say louder for our orders even though our table was pretty close to the counter. We ordered at 5:20pm, food didn't come until 5:45pm. A friend ordered the tonkotsu ramen without bean sprouts and bamboo shoots but it came with bamboo shoots. Understandable since they just barely opened but the drink my friend ordered was just sitting at the counter for a while. I had to ask and grab the drink myself. We also asked for water when we were ordering but we never got it so when we were half way done eating, my friend went up to the counter and asked the dude for water. He ignored my friend 2 times and then he finally answered, and the nice guy helped to pour the water but we had to carry 5 water cups to our table. THAT'S STILL NOT THE MAIN ISSUE YET.Since there was basically no service, I did not want to pay any tips. I went up to the counter and paid the bill. After signing it without putting tips, as I was walking back to my table about to leave, he said, "Hey you have to pay tips." I asked him why, and he was pointing at the gratuity guide showing 15-20% tips amount, "You need to pay tips." At first, I thought it's the big party gratuity but we had 5 people, and usually it applies to 6 or more people only. Also, it was not indicated anywhere on the menu or receipt that we had to pay tips so I asked him why I had to tip them. He just said, "You usually tip when you eat, don't you?" I replied, "No, is it necessary to tip here?" He didn't answer my question, instead, he said, "So you are not tipping?" I refused so he finally stopped asking me.Being here in the US for over 10 years, not a single server had asked me to tip them before, until today. I used to work in a food truck so I know how important tips are for food industry workers. Had I ever asked customers to tip me? Heck no. Do I usually tip people? Absolutely. I eat out almost every day and I tip people even for a take out order. This restaurant did not provide any service to us except the nice guy bringing us the food. We took the drink and water to our own table. The dude, not sure if he was the owner or now, stayed behind the counter cooking pretty much the whole time, only walked out once but didn't do anything for us. I understand that they were understaffed but I don't think they deserve any tips, maybe except the nice guy. You may say the guy was busy cooking since they just barely opened but hey, if you can't prepare the food earlier than your stated open hours, maybe don't put 5pm. If you can't serve your customers because you are too busy cooking then don't expect me to tip. It's such a shame they have good food but that Asian dude was rude. Don't come to this place if you don't tip.

This is now my go-to place for noodle soup and hot pot. Down-to-earth food, staff and prices.

Pretty good Taiwanese noodle store. It's close to how I remember Taiwanese noodles tasted, with just a little American spin on it, but not enough to be weird. The rock star noodles were okay. A light ramen-like dish that tasted just fine.
