Mountain House is a must-visit for authentic and bold Sichuan flavors in Rowland Heights. I tried the green peppercorn boiled fish, and it was absolutely amazing—the fish was tender and fresh, and the broth had that perfect numbing kick from the peppercorns without being overpowering. We were greeted by a hostess dressed in traditional Chinese clothing as we walked in, with Koi fish dotting the small pond near the entrance. The traditional Chinese setting is augmented by the slightly dimmed lights, and the miniature pavilion is a fun add-on. Food was above average, and they serve alcohol though not a full bar. Overall it is a worthwhile visit if you want to be whisked away in a dining experience beyond just food. The environment itself is worth a visit.
We were looking for a new restaurant to try and new style of food and I'm so glad I came across this place. The food was very delicious. I've never tried Szechuan food before and I am glad that I finally did! The atmosphere is absolutely wonderful. It's very beautiful inside and very relaxing. The service is great as well.
