This is the worst Hunan restaurant I’ve ever been to. We ordered four dishes. The luffa was bitter, and even the stinky tofu tasted bitter and was over-fried and dry. The duck had a strong gamey smell, like it had been cured and dried—definitely not fresh. The Hunan stir-fried pork was decent, but the portion was really small. When we paid the bill, the waitress gave me the wrong change, less then it is supposed to be,and before I could say anything, she was already pushing me to leave a tip. I honestly felt like returning the dishes. I absolutely do not recommend this place—terrible food. Never going back.

Our business partners took us here when they were visiting from China. My husband and I come all the time. We bring our own lobster and I love the Hu Nan style!!!! Love their shrimp & fried rice too. Staff ladies are always so friendly.

We had a great experience at Red Chilli Hunan Restaurant! The owner was incredibly nice and welcoming — I really appreciated her warm and attentive service. Our group ordered the Shredded Pork with Dried Tofu, sauteed cabage, the Red Chilli House Special and etc — all were delicious and packed with flavor. The atmosphere feels like a cozy local spot, but the owner mentioned they also have private rooms available for parties if you call ahead to reserve. I also love how they asked about our preferred spice level — very flexible and accommodating. Overall, the food was beyond expectations. Will definitely be coming back!

I had dinner here last week with some friends after a coworker recommended it. Overall, the food was fantastic — I especially loved all the spicy options on the menu. If you're a fan of spicy food, this place is a must-try. I had seen some reviews mentioning issues with the service and was a bit concerned, but our experience was excellent. The staff was friendly and welcoming, and no one made us feel pressured about tipping. We had a great time and would definitely come back!

I had a very disappointing experience at this place. The service was frustrating, and I feel compelled to share my experience.
When it came time to pay, the server (who appeared to be a woman in her 40s-50s) refused to accept a credit card and insisted on cash only. This was incredibly inconvenient, but I complied with the request. After paying, I left a 10% tip, based on the subtotal plus tax, as I normally do.
To my surprise, the server wasn’t happy with the tip and actually demanded 15% instead! It felt really inappropriate and unprofessional to dictate how much I should tip. I understand that tipping is a personal decision, and while I’m happy to leave a reasonable tip, being asked for more is simply unacceptable.
I won’t be returning to this restaurant, and I’d advise others to be cautious of their questionable business practices.

This is a sad meal today! It's full of side dishes! Onions 🧅 peppers 🌶️ If you like side dishes, I recommend this place! But even with the side dishes, the portion is pitifully small!!!

I ordered stir-fried kidneys and tasted the familiar domestic taste.

I have been eating here for three years, and the ingredients used to be fresh, cheap, and delicious. Now all that's left is expensive, small portions, and not fresh.
Delivering food with children Just after entering the door, a clerk dressed as a boss opened the door and left the store. My child and I just walked through the door, and I didn’t care whether my 8-year-old child would be caught in the door. I just left the door and walked out. I quickly held the door open to prevent the child from getting caught. I saw why the clerk was acting like this. It turned out that two customers had just come out. I thought it was because the customer paid less, but it turned out to be that the customer's $3 tip was less. Ask customers to tip more... I hope customers will tip more in the future. Thank you...

Big menu spicy everything shop that's got a lot of flavors in various meats, veggies and tofu. The spicy fish head is very good and I liked the spicy sliced lamb too. They do perhaps more take out business than dining in, which is a good sign that there's a lot of local support.

The Hunan restaurant recommended by a friend has many branches in LA.
Note ⚠️If you like spicy food, please order it very spicy, otherwise it won’t taste enough!
Personally recommended dishes: garlic oysters and jumping frog.

To my surprise, I ordered the frog that was so salty and bitter that it felt like it had been frozen for a long time. I asked him to return it but he refused, so I added half a bottle of water to the frog and left it on the table without eating it. I packed it back and threw away all three cauliflowers. It’s 95 and I’ll never go there again!
