This Cantonese restaurant offers a very solid and authentic dining experience.
The menu focuses on traditional Cantonese flavors—light, clean, and well-balanced, letting the quality of the ingredients shine. We ordered several classic dishes and everything was executed well. The roasted meats were flavorful with crispy skin and not greasy, the steamed dishes were fresh and properly seasoned, and the stir-fried dishes had good wok hei.
Ingredient quality really stands out, especially the seafood, which was fresh and well prepared with no off-flavors. Portions are reasonable and the pricing feels fair compared to similar Cantonese restaurants.
Service was attentive and relaxed, and dishes came out at a comfortable pace. The dining area is clean and comfortable, making it a good spot for family meals or casual gatherings with friends.
If you’re looking for traditional, no-frills Cantonese food done right, this place is definitely worth a visit.

This dim sum place finally reopened after pandemic. It used to be our favorite dim sum spot and it once again didn't fail our expectations. All the dim sums are as good as they used to be. The most important things are the add-ons with exceptional cheap price to get such as lobster with noodles, duck with fried tofu, and fried fish. Not to mention their portion are so generous that can feed large group of people no problem. Definitely our go to spot in Rowland Heights for Dim Sum. Highly recommended.

There were 6 of us, and we ordered a full table of Cantonese dishes — seafood, BBQ/soy-marinated items, hot dishes, and staples.
The total came to only $120, and we were absolutely stuffed 😳
Great value for the price, and the food was really good. The BBQ/soy-marinated dishes were very flavorful, and the seafood was fresh. Nothing felt rushed or low-effort. The dining room is nice and presentable, the food quality is consistent, and everything tastes very classic Hong Kong–style.
With Christmas and year-end gatherings coming up, this place is perfect for groups. Highly recommended!

I’ve come to Top Island plenty of times just for tea, but this was actually my first time having dinner here—and now I’m asking myself why I didn’t try it sooner. They just launched a bunch of dinner specials for $15.99, and honestly, the value is crazy good.
We got the $15.99 steamed tilapia—super fresh and perfectly done, totally worth it. The braised eggplant was soft, flavorful, and great with rice. The $4.99 tofu & duck combo was another steal. We also tried the Signature Clay Pot, Typhoon Shelter Crab (so fragrant and loaded with garlic!), the Maggi beef cubes (tender and packed with flavor), and the watercress & fish ball hot pot, which tasted really homey.
Every dish hit the mark—nothing disappointing at all. As someone from Guangdong who eats Cantonese food all the time, I’d say Top Island is one of the best value-for-quality Cantonese spots in LA. Highly recommend!

A traditional Cantonese restaurant certified by locals!
Boston Lobster 🦞
A three-pound lobster baked in superior broth. The chef baked it to perfection – the meat is firm and tender, the sauce is rich and flavorful, with a hint of ginger and scallions, and the lobster is sweet and fresh.
.
Oyster and Roast Pork Hot Pot
The oysters are so plump and big!! The roast pork (pork belly) in the clay pot is fatty but not greasy, tender and juicy. The sauce coats every piece of tofu and mushroom – perfect with rice!!
.
Complimentary dessert: Sago Soup
No need to order, it's free! The taro and coconut milk flavor is fragrant, sweet and not greasy, a gentle ending to the meal!!

Typical dimsum place. No carts, you order off the menu. Service was fast and helpful. The food was a bit above average, but nothing spectacular.

This is our first time eating at Top Island Seafood Restaurant. We ordered many dim sum appetizers. The restaurant wasn't busy and foods came out lighting fast. Everything was delicious and the hot appetizers were hot. It's always fun to share with a large group. They kept refilling our hot tea non stop. Great service and food. We will definitely return another day.

Great lobster deal. Order $80 of dishes and you get $10/lb of lobster. Dishes were excellent and easily competitive for LA Chinese food. The huge TV screen in the middle of the wall is a bit distracting, but must be excellent for wedding or party slide shows.
