The service was amazing, 5 stars for service and 3 stars for the meat quality. I will definitely come back again to eat here at least one more time to re-judge the meat quality:)

One of the best shabu-shabu spot I've been to. Will be back again The outside of this place isn't that appealing but don't let that deter you because the inside is well maintained and clean.

First time here and it was Saturday night. It was packed but we waited not that long around 5 mins. There were only two servers at the time, it was the busser an older man who noticed us waiting after he set a table and called one of the server. The guy server gave us a table, the services were quite okay it's just they were only two of them so sometimes you have to ask twice for anything. Which is understandable and they were polite (: And other than meat, we got to get them ourselves which was convenient, like veggies, noodles, mushrooms etc. For a $30++ ayce dinner on a weekend we were happy. They gave probiotic drinks at the end.

I've been to Shabu 88 4+ times so far and have been impressed each time. In my last visit, I ordered a split sukiyaki and original base and orders of their 4 different beef plates. Every meat is tender - even the lean meats. My preference is the short plate and the chuck eye roll. The short plate is the fattiest of the bunch and the chuck eye provides a nice balance between fat and lean meat. For those of you who like to eat your money's worth, I brought a scale to my last visit and weighed each plate of meat. On average, each plate was around 190 grams but ranged from 110-250 depending on how many slices they decided to put. The original broth is a vegetable-based broth that doesn't impart a lot of flavor into your meats and vegetables so for those that like to keep the taste of their meat and veggies pure and/or want their sauce to be the star of the show, the original broth is perfect. The sukiyaki broth will make everything quite sweet. Personally, I like putting my vegetables in this broth since I don't dip my vegetables in sauce normally and having a change-up in savory to sweet is nice. I would caution against getting a full sukiyaki base unless you really like the sweetness. The one downside of my last visit to Shabu 88 was that their plates weren't always completely clean. I haven't noticed this in my previous visits so I'm willing to believe that it was a one-off occurrence. At $29.99 per adult, Shabu 88 punches above its price point and shames the value propositions of rivals like Jazz Cat if you eat more than 5-7 oz of meat.

Love this place. We got here on a Thursday night and it's not busy, giving out very chill vibes with great playlist and excellent service. On top of it all, meat quality was superb - get the shoulder top blade if you like fatty meat, and the boneless brisket for the lean type. We had the sukiyaki and original broth and I combined them both, soooo good! Will definitely come back!

I would say more like a 4.5 but it quite a 5 First of all, there was no wait and the food was great. All the meat tasted like good quality. Veggies fresh. Broth good. Service was great. They actually give you a lot of meat in your first round. There was nothing necessarily wrong with this place, but I just feel like at the price that it was, I have had much better at a similar price point for AYCE. I would say yes, if you're in the area and craving shabu, then definitely go. But If you're not, I don't think you have to go out of your way to go out there.

Came here on a Tuesday night, not busy at all. Good quality meat and broth. Portions were good. Service was great. Would definitely come back.

Was debating between two other AYCE shabu places in the area but ended up here! Shabu 88 is a solid AYCE shabu spot within the area and I'd say it's just as good as the more expensive ones. There is a self-serve veggie and sauce bar and they also provide gloves to keep everything a bit more hygienic. Lots of options to choose from and they definitely offer a good variety, which is really important! The meat quality was good and the broth itself was also pretty standard. Overall would recommend this to anyone in the area!

Good selection of meats and flavorful soup base. Where it lacks is in the sauce and vegetables department. Limited options, but at least what's available is fresh. No hot food at this time, probably because of Covid precautions. Service is fast including delivery of meats and clean up of empty plates. A party of 4 would use one split pot.

This is forever my go to place for Shabu! The workers are the sweetest! They consistantly check your table to see if your group is doing okay and if anything was needed. This is my 4th time coming here and it never disappoints. (Photos taken were from at the restaurant few months ago) I came here last night dor a birthday and I normally get the sukiyaki and the house spicy broth! It's so good! Even better when you combine both! Great quality of meat(s)! When I ordered the meat, instead of giving one of each on the beef side of the menu, they gave 2 each of the meat. Which was a but to much since there were 5 of us. But that was my fault, I should have said 1 of each for both sides of the table. It is an AYCE so you kinda want to pace yourselves! I do like this shabu place more than others because most shabu places give you the veggie toppings with your order, compared to here, they have a full toppings and sides bar! Definately can't beat the price either!

Best AYCE Shabu you'll find in the area. Meat options are great and the meat quality is also amazing. It's a must try if you're craving shabu and hoping to eat lots of meat. They also have vegetables available to cleanse!

Amazing! This place was definitely a bang for your buck. Waiter service was amazing. The people were great as well as the food selection!

This shabu place has really good sukiyaki broth! Their meat quality is pretty good and the wait is never too long compared to other shabu places. I probably come here once every few months. Their veggie and seafood bar doesn't have as much variety compared to other shabu places, but their stuff is still pretty fresh. Their dipping sauces are also very good, which is an important part of eating shabu (at least it is for me)!

I've heard of this place before, but this was our first since family wanted it to switch from the ordinary. Place was easy to find and good parking available. Service was ok, but nothing to write home about. We lined up shortly after being seated and started to browse over the different meats and veggies to choose from. Load and behold, these elderlies started cutting and getting too close for comfort! Being respectful, we let them get theirs first, but the repeated behavior began to get a little out of hand. I rather someone brought the grub to the tables instead at that point. We are still not out of the woods after all. Ok, time to get down to the fiery: soup base was meh! We ordered the yin yang soups, but both were bland and not even spicier than the packets we got from the market. It's like we had to add spicy chili sauces ourselves, but the condiments were meh as well. Veggies were also meh. Not even close to most hot pot place's level let alone Japanese shabu joints. The only good part was the plates of meats the servers kept bringing over without pausing. We were full, but not fulfilled in spirit if you know what I mean. Price was ok, but why charge kids by heights? Bathroom was clean, and easy to get to. Overall cleanliness was above 6. Will we go back? Let's just say, I rather go to H Mart and grab the meats and veggies to do hot pot at home would be tastier and better quality in so many ways.

I would not come back here. It was my first time here and they closed the veggie and sauce bar an hour early! I wasn't able to get more veggies or sauce. When i pay full price, i expect full service. Management, please do something about this. You just lost my business
