The restaurant is rated as one of the top 100 Chinese restaurants in US by Yelp and is the only one in LA area. So, I decided to pay them a visit last week. My conclusion is that it is over-rated and also over priced. The only thing I like about the restaurant is the internal design. It is also quite spacious. The food is quite a disappointment. I ordered a spicy broth and my wife ordered a non-spicy one recommended by the waiter. Both of them are under the average. The wagyu beef is just ok not particularly impressed. The service is also just okay. I will not go back and will not recommend it. I will also never trust Yelp 's rating again.

Enjoyed my lunch here at Wagyu House! Staff was courteous and explained the ordering system. The meat quality was excellent, broth was delicious, plus the sauce bar gives you freedom to mix your own dipping sauce.

the waiter was very patient and hospitable . A+ service, although food quality was top notch, it wasn't personally for me

The mushroom pot was delicious. The food was great. Beautiful decor and great service by Stacey and Brian. The shaved ice was decadent.

I had an absolutely fantastic experience during my visit! Our waitress Victoria was incredibly attentive, friendly, and made sure we had everything we needed without ever being intrusive. She greeted us with a warm smile, offered great menu suggestions, and was quick to refill drinks and check in on us at just the right moments. Her positive attitude and professionalism truly enhanced the dining experience. The timing of the meal was perfect, and she made us feel right at home. I couldn’t have asked for better service—definitely a 10/10 experience! Highly recommend!

They give out free cakes for leaving reviews, FYl, so keep that in mind when reading the other reviews (Yelp and Google).

Food was ok but service was terrible. Food was not better than any other Chinese Szechuan style hotpot yet it costs twice. The soup base alone was like $50 already.
Service. Ha. Food took at least 30 mins to arrive. Not sure why. It wasn't particularly crowded on the night, nor were the food presented any different from a $30 hotpot restaurant.

But hey, maybe that wasn't the waiter's fault.
This is: when they add soup, the kettle leaks. The leaked soup goes along the side of the kettle and right onto the table and right into your dipping sauce etc. kinda unsanitary, no?
They also do it like they didn't care.
It wasn't just one waiter either. It was two of them doing the same thing. Obviously not properly trained?

I'd be fine with that at some random roadside restaurant but this place was like $100+ per person, you kidding me?
And they had the audacity to ask me to leave a good review lol. Okay.

Food was great, service could be better. I felt like we had to wait quite a while to get more food on the table. By the time food arrived, my friends and I were full. They took the time to explain everything on the menu and other things we needed to know as our first visit.
