My husband and I stumbled across this place when we were thrift shopping a couple years ago. We weren’t expecting much but we absolutely loved the pastries they had. We’re planning another trip and had to look it up so we can revisit.

The Sugar Chalet is the perfect small town gem of a bakery! We’ve been coming here for cookies and the occasional cake for a while and this place wows! High altitude baking is no joke, and they know how to do it perfectly even while accommodating dietary needs like keto. Their cakes are out of this world — definitely don’t miss their seasonal spice cake around the holidays! I’m also obsessed with their brown butter cookies, and they’ll go above and beyond for custom cakes if you order ahead!! Local and family-owned, too!!

Sugar Chalet is an incredible local shop with the best people around. They make and source some of the most delicious and wonderful things on the mountain! They always have incredible creations made locally, both by them and nearby chefs!

But beyond the standard, I ordered a custom birthday cake for my wife and sent them a couple of photos of our dogs, and they designed and created this absolute masterpiece!

Definitely treat yourself!

Sugar Chalet in Running Springs made a stunning smash cake and custom cake pops for my daughter’s 1st birthday. The cake was not only beautiful but also delicious—my daughter loved it, and we were able to enjoy a few bites ourselves! Communication through Instagram was seamless, and they were very responsive. I highly recommend supporting this local bakery for any special occasion. Great quality and service!

Went on a Sunday afternoon not much of a selection. Bought some of what they did have and when we got home the cookies were stale! and not good ended up throwing them away... I definitely will not be going back to sugar chalet again!

Stop to get the pineapple shareable for you and your kid. It is delicious! My two kids loved it. I am going to try the strawberry one next time. I can't wait to taste it

Whoever gave this place a 1 star is a hater. Very cute shop with decent prices for a better product. The set up is very cute and very kid friendly with free activities to do while you have a snack. Give it a chance, deserves the 5 star rating. Keep up the good work.

Great treats for the drive home from Bear Mountain! After the really winding part of the 18, we needed to get out of the car for bit. We stopped at The Sugar Chalet and picked out a bunch of different kinds of cookies plus two lemon bars. Yum!

The shop is like something out of a little storybook. We sat on a chocolate chip cookie pillow, signed the guest book, then got back on the road.

Perfect way to cap off our weekend trip!

The place is so rarely open never rely on the hours posted on the website. The times I have found the place open the donuts were old and the cupcakes were only okay
