I love and miss pan dulce so much since going vegan…so once this place was on my radar I could not wait until I was in the area to check it out. We went crazy and bought several of the vegan options. They were all so delicious and the guy working there was so nice! They even had silk chocolate milk! I was in heaven! I will stop by every time I’m in town!
Love their vegan pan dulce! The only vegan pan that is in the area and still tastes authentic. Customer service is always friendly and prompt. I have tried a little bit of everything and have loved almost all of them. Sometimes their Conchas don't have the flavoring just right but typically do. Pricing is cheap considering they're vegan. They sell non vegan options as well in a separate cabinet.

I had a birthday cake made and it was very good. I also recommend it the sweet bread they make every day is delicious because their recipes are original from family members.

As someone who grew up indulging in pan dulce created in little hole in the wall bakeries, I really missed it once going vegan. Conchas are one of my favorite treats and it is amazing to be able to have them again! Rich and just the perfect amount of sweet, the conchas produced by La Espiga de Oro are even better than I remember. They have tons of other treats too and since my last visit they have added much clearer signage and a dedicated and labeled vegan case! The people are always sweet and helpful and the hours they are currently open (7 days, 7am to 9pm) allow accessibility for pretty much anyone in the area. Sadly, I am NOT in the area and have to make pilgrimage as often as I can. So yummy!! Updated from previous review on 2024-02-24

Disappointing ExperienceI recently ordered a cake and was dismayed to find that it was made with the wrong ingredients. Despite the initial offer of a free replacement, the owner later changed their mind, leaving me unsatisfied with both the product and the customer service. Overall, a disappointing experience.I regret to say that due to this disappointing experience, I will not be purchasing from this place again. The combination of the incorrect ingredients in the initial cake and the subsequent change in the offer for a replacement has left me with a lack of confidence in their products and customer service.

Most amazing smell as you walk in. This is the most similar taste to bread in Mexico ??. Customer service was also amazing
Wonderful selection of vegan traditional pan dulce as well as puff pastries (in addition to the regular non-vegan offerings) in a tiny bakery off Route 99. So delicious and a great value - worth a special trip from the Bay Area! I have changed my regular route to SoCal from I5 to Rt. 99 just so I can stop here and get a large assortment to bring to my friends! The proprietor is so friendly, I encourage everyone to support his business!
Best Pan dulce I’ve ever tried, I live 30 minutes away from Salida, a month ago a friend of mine told me about this place and I can tell you is the best pan dulce, REAL MEXICAN FLAVOR, the owner is so kind and I just can say…I do recommend this place ?%
