We stopped on our way to a race in Oakdale from San Francisco! We received the best service and even better food! Everything was so inexpensive but the quality was spectacular! Hours are correctly posted. Make this stop a priority for your road trip breakfast/lunch option.

We have been here a couple times now. The service has been good and so has the food. They gave us a free Apple fritter on the way out. It's cozy and not over crowded. It's my kind of place.

Delicious light fluffy pancakes, huge tasty omelet, home fries cooked perfectly. Food came out hot. Very good service. Will be back.

The owner is a kind quirky asian man. Very friendly and adamant on customer service. I usually order a #5 breakfast croissant once a week. I've also had the burgers and breakfast burritos, all pretty good and you get your money's worth! Idk about the dine in menu but you can't go wrong with the short order here

Good local breakfast and lunch place. Open until 4 pm. Delightful couple run the place. Good prices. Been her forever - third owners over the past twenty-five years. Where the farmers eat breakfast in Salida.

Warning! deception!: Under new ownership. This place is totally unrelated to the old Salida Country Kitchen. It's a trick they are pulling on people by retaining the same name... First of all, the place was very messy and the salt and pepper shakers had lots of dirt all over the top of it, the back was full of boxes and it didn't feel clean. Second, the food was very tasteless and amateur. I got the Vietnamese chicken sandwich and it tasted like it had rotisserie chicken meat in it. It had the flavor of a rotisserie chicken from Foodmax and the chicken was very tough. My wife ordered the ham and cheese omelette. It was pretty much tasteless because although they used a good amount of cheese and ham but it tasted and looked like they just put the ham and eggs into the pan at the same time without browning the ham first. Because they have many things on the menu they are not making a lot of things from scratch. It wouldn't be so bad if it didn't have the name of Salida country kitchen which used to be a very delicious restaurant where everything was made expertly. They should change their name. When we came in and we expected the Salida country kitchen and it wasn't we felt like we were trapped so this restaurant is kind of like a trap. Be careful. If this restaurant was honest they would not use that name and they would not use the same Google reviews and Yelp account because the old owner's success has nothing to do with what they're doing now.The positive is that the owners were very nice and generous however in a creepy uncomfortable sort of way. Definitely never coming back here. The only good thing was the hash browns which tasted real crispy like they deep fried them. By the way, there is no more chicken fried steak challenge.

Easy parking, right off the freeway, homemade goodness. Standard breakfast fair, good portions, quick service. I had the French toast which was made in a typical fashion. Bacon quality was mid level, not the super thick smoked bacon but not the super thin mostly salt style, right in the middle. Pricing is typical and the service was great. Very fast and efficient. I like the ambiance and vibe of this breakfast nook. I look forward to trying out their lunch soon.

Mom and Pop breakfast and donut shop. Very sweet, funny and welcoming environment every time we went. It was only the parents working here, so be mindful when it gets busy. Food is very straightforward not too fancy or too expensive, turned out good everytime. Have not had a problem every time i came here and their bathroom is clean.

Good food. A variety of choices from breakfast to lunch and dinner. Great owners! Always very welcoming and the location is very clean and has enough space for family to sit down and Enjoy their meal.

Fantastic little family- owned place, they do a little of everything here! I ordered the Chicken Fried Steak and Eggs and everything was done right: 2 crisply fried patties drenched in white sausage gravy laced with a heavy dose of black pepper, eggs sunny-side and crunchy hash browns. Jacky was super-nice and attentive. Locals wandered in and greeted Jacky by name. Rest of the family came cruising in as i was leaving, boy's arms loaded up with supplies for the day. Local and Family-owned are the best!

Not terrible but they could do a LOT better if they tried even a little; they don't have much competition nearby except from a chain (Perko's). They could really clean up a few things like water quality and add maybe 2-3 cheap healthy items on their menu. I get it this is an old school greasy spoon -and their country fried steak is decent by the way as is their gravy- but people also look for more heart-healthy stuff these days. Tofu and mushrooms are super cheap and adding a vegan or vegetarian scramble to their "specials" menu should be easy. Their pancakes are very plain here but their omelets are good; they will make one with egg whites if you ask.

The owners are very friendly. It's a small restaurant but they have enough choices on their menu. We noticed their scrambled eggs from real eggs and not from a carton.

Small town mom and pop. Good cheap breakfast and wonderful owner! He will check on you and quality of food he serves himself. Best breakfast in Salida.Kid-friendliness: Bring the family to enjoy a breakfast here at a little mom and pop joint.
