San Ardo Café was a terrible experience. Their washrooms are marked “for customers only,” but the place is basically a bar, which means not everyone can even buy something just to access the restroom. Yes they have tacos but the place does not seem to be a good fit for any kind of food… For travelers passing through, this setup is completely inconvenient and unhelpful.
What makes it worse is that they seem to be connected to or part of the same petroleum stop nearby, yet still don’t offer basic accessibility or hospitality for people on the road. Instead of helping travelers, it feels like they go out of their way to make things difficult.
If you want a simple, friendly, accessible stop, this is NOT the place. Keep driving — there are far better and more welcoming options ahead.

We were headed home from the Lake and wanted a breakfast spot. We stumbled on to this little gem. Great service! Owner very friendly. We had good food, a good chat and a wonderful breakfast experience. We will definitely stop in again.

Came for tacos with friends and when one of us got up to use the bathroom the host said we had to buy something. We said okay and bought a coke which was when he said that that was not going to be enough after purchasing. HORRIBLE SERVICE DO NOT GO HERE.
