Gumbo - lacked flavor; served less than warm = had to send it bac to make it hot. It did hv a good helping of meat n okra.
Short ribs - meat was dry.
Rice n Beans - no flavor
Other stuff - collar guns, corn fritters, corn bread = average

Creola is a New Orleans style bar and bistro. We stopped here for a quick and early dinner and loved the food and ambience. Conveniently located on El Camino Real, with ample street parking plus a small parking lot. We ordered Hushpuppies and Shrimp Creola; both dishes were served piping hot and were very tasty. The shrimp were juicy and flavorful and came with a generous helping of rice. The ambience is quaint with soft jazz playing continuously in the background and southern style paintings / wall decorations. We got seating right next to the windows overlooking el Camino Real and that made the dining time more interesting, looking leisurely out. The staff were friendly and service was quick.

Special thanks to Danny the owner, she provided an excellent hospitality making us feel special. Her passion to describe the ingredients on the various dishes is commendable.

I met a friend who ordered a vegetarian jambalaya, I went with catfish blackened meal that included 2 sides; I had rice and beans and non veg jambalaya . Very tasty. Beignets were a great way to finish off the cajun meal. Service was great we took our time, and never felt rushed. It was a very pleasant experience.

The staff here are hardworking and friendly. Insanely good down to earth Creole food just like I'm used to. Authentic and rich flavors. Go a little off menu and get the catfish fried. You won't regret it.

We went for dinner at Creola, eager to experience Cajun-Creole cuisine based on numerous recommendations. Here are our thoughts:

Crispy Boudin Balls - 7.5/10: Super crispy on the outside and moist on the inside.

Oysters'em Brochette - 6/10: While the exterior was perfectly crispy, the inside was a bit too mushy for our taste. This might be typical for the dish, but it didn't appeal to us.

Braised Short Rib - 7/10: The meat had great flavors and was incredibly tender, falling apart beautifully.

Shrimp and Crawfish Etouffee - 8/10: Delicious with plenty of seafood. It was slightly spicy, though very mildly so.

Pecan and Cheesecake - 9/10: A delightful surprise. The combination worked wonderfully, making it the best dish we had.

Beignet - 6.5/10: Just okay. It was fried dough but lacked the fluffiness we expected.

Overall, it was a nice Louisiana-style food experience, but the food was just ok

I made reservation here at 8:15pm close to their closing at 9:00pm. Hosts and servers were very welcoming and we were seated right away. The restaurant was packed. We ordered shrimp and crawfish etouffe, braised short ribs, and crispy boudin balls. My favorite was shrimp and crawfish etouffee! Overall all dishes we ordered tasted well balanced and not salty, which I liked. I would say it is the best finer creole restaurant I visited. Servers never made us feel rushed and were attentive. I would be excited to visit again to try other menu items.

Tasty food and cozy atmosphere, but the food is plated thinly on room temperature plates and comes out cold. Gave it another shot with a different dish, same exact experience.

I am completely honest with my reviews so let me say the service and atmosphere is top tier however I can not say the same about the food. I like my food flavorful and the food had no flavor or even any seasoning. This is a creole /Louisiana restaurant yet there are no creole or southern people cooking which explains the lack of flavor. I am disappointed. I can’t lie. I wanted this restaurant to be a place that I can recommend and visit often however this isn’t a restaurant that caters to real southern people. The presentation is immaculate but you can’t taste looks. I hope this is helpful.

This is a popular restaurant in any city in the world. Not only is the food fresh and delicious, but the service is excellent and friendly. Even if you are a traveler, you feel as if you are at home. It is highly recommended! The crayfish etouffe is so delicious! The fried oysters are also top notch. Crystal hot sauce also has a unique taste.
