I have been coming here for years. One of the best burritos in the Bay Area. Super fresh and good portion sizes. The BEST salsa bar too. Dont forget to grab a cream filled churro.

The place is a gem compared to the quality, cost and service unlike tacos el grullense and down to earth people, keep up the good work!
Picked up some super burritos the other day. Wife loved her shrimp burrito 🌯, my pastor was equally impressive. Will return.

Best around the area
This a small but excellent restaurant with delicious Mexican food. The price is reasonable with large portions.

Love this place so much! Some of the best tacos I've had in quite a while. I got 3 tacos. 2 al pastor and 1 asada. The meat is fresh and the right amount of flavor and the salsa on the tacos are perfect. What's nice is they also have a salsa bar where you can get a bag of ships and different salsas. Definitely going back again

I smashed my food way before thinking to take a picture really wish I would have in hind sight. It was a beautiful oozy cheese and shrimp chimichanga that was soooo dang good. More seating inside than the parking lot. They stated busy the whole time we were there. It was a delightful lunch!!!

The best Mexican food in san Carlos.

Al pastor was great. Salsa bar is good!
I'm from San Diego and I've had a hard time finding flavors similar to home in the Bay. El Maguey's flavors remind me of home, and they've got a fully-loaded California burrito on their menu. They're a welcoming, classic taqueria with an extensive salsa bar, free appetizer chips, and full table service. Try the carne asada and the al pastor.
We moved to the area a year ago from San Diego, and have been on the hunt for a decent taqueria with no luck - until today! This is the place we've been waiting for, we're so happy to have found a great spot for legit Mexican food that tastes like home.
Caldo and burrito were fantastic, salsa bar had many different kinds of great salsas with free tortilla chips, horchata was homemade and delicious. 👌
The prices were reasonable, and the service friendly too. We'll be back soon!
Excellent food. Very tasty, well priced. The place is a bit outdated. Good service.
Hands down the best burritos on the peninsula.
