Falafel Tazah San Carlos

I visited this place and was excited to see the pile of meat spinning, so I ordered a shawarma wrap. However, instead of cutting the meat fresh, they took a pre-wrapped sandwich from the freezer and heated it in the oven. When I asked about it, they explained that they cut the meat in the morning (I was there at 7 PM), prepare the wraps in advance, and simply warm them up for customers. That’s not what I would consider “Tazeh” (fresh). So disappointing. I requested a refund, and they were friendly about it.

I was visiting the area and found this place on Maps near my hotel. WOW what a find! It was hard making a decision, because everything on the menu sounded great. I got a kefta kebab plate: 3 big pieces of kefta on yellow rice with roasted veggies. It came with a nice salad with lots of finely chopped Persian cucumbers, and a very generous dollop of hummus. And, of course, a lovely big pita. This made dinner last night and lunch today. So yummy. If you like spice, say YES to the hot sauce! Tangy and delicious.

Ordered Doordash, the Chicken Shwarma wrap and the rice. Holy cow guys, that was really freaking good and the order got here fast. Well done, will eat here again for sure.

Im giving the a 3 star rating because I just bought a bowl 90% rice 5% protein 5% salad. I know food cost is rising But that was kinda disappointing.

Be aware of the this. I ordered
a Chicken Shawarma to go. However, when I got home there were two small ice cubic size pieces of chicken inside. There was mainly rice, and small pieces of diced cucumber with one slice of tomato. Probably I will never go back to place again.

Lamb and beef shawarma rice plate $18 - decent. Beef and lamb was decent quality, not too saucy or salty. On a bed of vegetables. Rice was typical. Hummus was terrible. Very thin watered down consistency, strange pinkish color, barely any hummus flavor
Lamb kebob stick $7 - good. Would have been even better if cooked medium rare instead of well done. Quality meat. 4 medium sized pieces served with a bit of onions, pickles, and tomato
Baklava $3 - ok. 1 small piece. Very syrupy, slightly soggy texture. A bit sweet

Ordered takeout, was ready in 15 mins. Small restaurant with some indoor and outdoor tables. It's a busy plaza but the parking lot is huge so no problems parking. Overall, food was decent but not exceptional. Good portions and reasonable prices. Probably wouldn't come back though since there's better options

All the food was very delicious. We got family size meal for 10 chicken kebab, shrimp kebabs, rice, hummus, pita bread, salad. Everything will flavored the chilies were delicious and spicy. Overall hella good ?!

I ordered a falafel wrap to go. They ask if you want it spicy, I said yes and it was indeed a good kick of heat.Why only 3 stars? For the price ($13), I feel like you don’t get much. The food was good but the wrap did not have much to it. It felt like half of my bites were just bread and sauce and the other half had the falafel and flavor.Service was quick but not super friendly. It was my first time and they didn’t ask if I had any questions or offer any suggestions.
