We stopped by this fast food Mediterranean spot and tried the falafel — it was delicious, perfectly crunchy on the outside and flavorful inside. The service was excellent and fast, and the place was very clean and inviting. I definitely plan to come back soon!

Falafel Tazah is a chain with multiple locations throughout the peninsula (San Carlos, Redwood City, and Foster City). The San Carlos location is like the other locations, small with limited indoor seating, and a little bit of outdoor seating. But the food is delicious, and the staff is friendly and helpful. Perfect for take out, and also a good catering option as we have used them several times already. Large free parking lot, but it is always busy and the traffic pattern can get a bit crazy, so be careful parking or driving as a lot of pedestrians don’t pay enough attention.

I had the pleasure of dining at Falafel Tazah just now and I have to thank God for bringing me in here with the wind today.

I was greeted by Gerson, who provided customer service and prepared the lamb/beef plate I just had the pleasure of feasting on.

The flavors were impactful and life-changing, in a great way. I enjoyed the hummus (8.5/10, but to be fair, I am a bit of a hummus connoisseur). The lamb and beef was a clear 9.5/10. The salad was good and the pita bread was fresh.

What stood out to me the most was the overall experience, which started with the friendly and speedy service, continued with great blasts of flavor, and ended with me having extra food for later due to the solid portion size.

I 100% recommend anyone to come here and try it out for yourself.

Well done, Falafel Tazah. Next time I come back, I'd have to try the Falafel. :)

Chicken Shawarma is loaded with pickles that throw off the taste. Low on veggies. Please add more veggies and do not add too much pickle to fill up the wrap.

Not worth it. I got a stomach ache after eating here. Also very small portions for the price I paid.

Warning: the bowl is basically 85% rice. Absolutely wasn’t looking to pay $16 + tip for this. At a minimum they could’ve added more veggies. The picture is the exact plate without the pita. What a rip off. Taste wise, the chicken was flavorful but that’s about it.

Friendly and fast. Had them one of my open houses catered and everyone seemed to love the freshness and taste of the food. Good portions as well.

I visited this place and was excited to see the pile of meat spinning, so I ordered a shawarma wrap. However, instead of cutting the meat fresh, they took a pre-wrapped sandwich from the freezer and heated it in the oven. When I asked about it, they explained that they cut the meat in the morning (I was there at 7 PM), prepare the wraps in advance, and simply warm them up for customers. That’s not what I would consider “Tazeh” (fresh). So disappointing. I requested a refund, and they were friendly about it.
So unfortunate and disappointing

I was visiting the area and found this place on Maps near my hotel. WOW what a find! It was hard making a decision, because everything on the menu sounded great. I got a kefta kebab plate: 3 big pieces of kefta on yellow rice with roasted veggies. It came with a nice salad with lots of finely chopped Persian cucumbers, and a very generous dollop of hummus. And, of course, a lovely big pita. This made dinner last night and lunch today. So yummy. If you like spice, say YES to the hot sauce! Tangy and delicious.
