Was very pleased with my first and only experience at Izzy's Peninsula. Has been wanting to go there for some time, and when I heard they were closing down the location, I made my reservation right away. Was pleased with the ambiance and the service. Food was extremely good and well prepared. Price point was exceptional in comparison to other steakhouses. I will be booking future reservations at the other location they have in San Francisco to try it again.
I asked for a roomy table. They put us in a tiny booth in the bar area next to an open door. We were almost outside. I complained and they moved us. The view was junk on the patio.
Upon receiving recommendations from several individuals, we decided to dine at Izzy's, a renowned restaurant situated in the Redwood City vicinity. During our work trip, we intended to celebrate our anniversary at this establishment. However, our experience was marred by several shortcomings. Firstly, the server was overwhelmed by the number of tables, resulting in inadequate attention to our needs. Secondly, the ambiance failed to align with the concept of “smart casual,” as the tables were positioned too closely together. While the food was satisfactory, the steaks and sides could have benefited from additional seasoning. In light of these observations, we have resolved to opt for alternative dining options during future visits, such as Morton's or Miller & Lux, located in the downtown area.
Hadn't been to Izzy's in years. After the wonderful dinner we experienced last night, I feel that missed out on an incredible dining experience for way too many years! I'll be returning soon.
Food is very good here, it's too bad they can't get their service straight. Long wait for drinks and food. No salt and pepper. No ketchup with fries. No sugar with coffee. Asked for each of these things and it took multiple requests from multiple service providers to get them. They had to re-make cappuccino, as it was cold by the time the 3rd request for sugar was delivered.
We had only been here once before about 10 years ago. Wow! It was just fine back then, but it is truly incredible now. Every single detail was amazing from the bread service to the appetizers to the drinks and entrees. I'm mostly pescatarian but make occasional exceptions for a really good steak, and the New York strip was absolute perfection!
Everything was perfect, my favorite go to steakhouse. Will definitely be coming back again soon.
They sat us but we received no service. We went there for my mother's birthday. They were busy and it's almost like they sat in the zone with no server so what ended up happening we had to get up a couple of times and asked for service things were not brought out like pepper drinks, etc..
Diego was an amazing waiter and we will ask for his section next time. Thank you, Bill Aiello
We went to Izzy"s on Mother's Day, so it was crowded and service was busy, and slower than usual. Nonetheless,we had an enjoyable time. We started with salads, which are huge, we should have shared. Prime rib and steaks were seasoned well and cooked exactly to order.

Overpriced Every item is priced separately, even bread..$100 per person easy..won't go back
Service was slow to start and meals did not come out together. Our server was wonderful and did her best to make the overall experience better.
Went for our anniversary dinner and was very pleased. We were seated at a comfortable booth near the bar and had great service by Erick M. I ordered a Manhattan and my wife had an Old Fashioned. Both were excellent. The salmon was cooked to perfection and the Prime Rib Sandwich was terrific. We both enjoyed sharing the Izzy's potatoes. Lots of parking was available.
We were a party of 4, dining on a Thursday night. We had 3 orders of the teriyaki flank steak and one order of the salmon. We started with salads. The food was good, though not outstanding. The restaurant was quite busy and therefore, very noisy. It was difficult to hold a conversation. We would like to commend the waitstaff - they were very attentive. I believe our waiter was named Amir (?). He handled an issue we had with the wine service in the most professional and courteous manner.
3rd time back in a week! That says it all! The renovated Izzy's is far better service and food quality wise! I shall be back!
