The portions are generous enough that I always know I have leftovers for my next meal. The hostess is the daughter of the proprietor and she is bubbly and very helpful, especially if you want recommendations.Update (2024): The food and service are still fantastic. The portions are still large and if you are in a large group and let them know that you're doing family-style, they plate the rice and roht separately -- very helpful.Sidenote: Kids love roht! And the kid-size sherbet.

A wonderful expression of Afghan cuisine. My favorite on the menu are the mantoo, tasty little dumplings covered in a delicious yogurt-based sauce. If you want to try something different from most restaurants in the area, I recommend going to Kabul.

What a disaster! This is NOT afghan food. Bad bad bad! I ordered karahi and it was totally something else. A made up food. Definitely not Karahi! I asked if there was a mistake and the waiter said no, this is karahi and it’s how we do it. I told him in Farsi so he knows that I know what karahi is. He said he agrees it’s not karahi but that’s how they’re doing it in the kitchen. And it was way overpriced for fake/made up/no taste afghan food.

The food was actually bad. The beef was so tough and bland. The bolani is unappetizing (how's it possible to mess up a bolani that bad?). The restaurant was quite full but had inadequate staff so it took forever to get anything done. The prices are expensive relative to the quality of food. Just a bad experience all around.
Consistently great food. One of our "go-to" restaurants. The kabobs are always amazing!

We took a friend for her first visit. She loved the food (lamb kebab) and everything else. And we enjoyed our meals as usual. Hope to return soonVegetarian options: I always order the veggie platter: 3 delicious veggie dishes on rice - with delicious bread .
