It is really disappointing to see how businessess have reduced the ingredients and service and have outrageously raised their prices. I used to go to Lulu's and they were good. Today I went and found them to be terrible. The food was so salty, and had very little of the main ingredient that I had ordered. The price was almost double to what I used to pay. I asked for extra salsa and was told basically, NO. Will not go there again. There are so many better places.
Good counter service option on Laurel Street. We’ve eaten here a few times. It’s good in that I like a few specific menu items that we tend to reorder and they are consistently enjoyable. Ambiance/location is great and good for bringing friends or visitors for a casual bite before or after strolling Laurel Street
This has become our go to place for Mexican takeout. Consistently great quality and flavors! Good place for dining in as well. Love their chopped salad and low card burrito options.
The basic cilantro rice, pinto beans, and guacamole and cheese somehow tastes better here with their spicy sauce. Sorry chipotle

I typically order food here through doordash. The food is always on point.
A few items I recommend:
1. Chimichangas - Very crunchy and flavorful. Not greasy
2. Taco-dilla with birria - cheesy meaty goodness with the consome. It's perfection.
3. Super burrito - perfect balance in every bite
4. Taco salad - I love the crunchy taco shell with the fresh salad and steak.
5. Chips and guac - Made in house and the chips are thick and crunchy. The guac is fresh with a little bit of crunch from the onions.
One of these days, I need to check it out to get the full experience.

Awesome service. I believe the guy’s name is Gabriel - takes pride in his job and works hard. He’s going places.
Enchiladas were super delicious and tangy. Not spicy. Tacos and soup looked good too. Guacamole was a bit bland.

They carved the menu down recently and removed street corn ? ? and other great dishes... Now it's just any taco place... Time to go to authentic Mex... Tacos El

Vegetarian options: Grilled veggie burrito is great. The chile relleno burrito with refried beans and half the rice is my favorite.

Went in for lunch on a Monday, and we were able to order at the counter without a wait. The food tasted so fresh and was very flavorful. Like most places, Lulu's can't guarantee cross-contamination of gluten free items won't occur, but I felt comfortable as a celiac because most things are gluten free aside from the flour tortillas.

Great place for a burrito! We had the chicken super burrito and the al pastor low carb burrito and they both were delicious! Highly recommend.

Very disappointing experience. I have eaten at their Menlo Park location for many years. This was my first and last time at the San Carlos location. I ordered veggie fajitas. The veggies were NOT seasoned at all, and were not grilled, so they had no flavor. I’m not sure how they were cooked. They did not serve the typical sides you normally get with fajitas. NO crema or guacamole. Only gave me 4 taco sized tortillas and 3 small to go plastic containers with different salsas, which was not enough for an order of fajitas. I went to order more and they wanted to charge me for it. I decided not to pay more for items that should have been provided, especially since the meal was not good at all and was already expensive. We went there around 7:00PM to eat. They started to immediately clean up the cooking/kitchen area after we were served our food, which seemed too early.
Vegetarian options: Not much to offer for vegetarians.

Baja themed Mexican serving fantastic food with a lively, outdoorsy atmosphere. If it wasn't for the expensive price (compared to the food you get), I might've even given it 5 stars.Eating at a place like Lulus... you know this isn't your date spot nor for a special occasion. You just want some great tacos and beer and that's exactly what you get. And even if it is in the middle of Laurel street, there is a certain price that you simply cannot cross... $7.75 for a single taco is pushing it, even if it may taste great. The atmosphere is somewhat lively but also the loud crowd and lines forming inside the restaurant throw off the balance.Even with all of this, this place deserves another visit.
Parking: Impossible to find parking on Laurel St. You're better off finding something on the side streets or going to the parking garage structure but you'll walk a bit.
