Excellent service. Food was delicious and fresh. Located in the heart of downtown San Carlos and is very convenient. Very spacious inside and is very clean.

I ordered five pieces of nigiri and a rainbow roll, along with a miso soup. The soup was good.
The fish was generously portioned but it felt like thick haphazard slabs on top of poorly seasoned rice. The fish for the most part had no taste, but the hotate had an unpleasant aftertaste. The soy sauce on the tables also tasted odd.

We stopped by Owada for a late lunch and found plenty of open seating. Service was prompt and friendly. We shared the Moro Tempura—crisp prawn tempura with assorted vegetables—and both ordered the beef udon. The broth was rich with umami from the bonito, the beef was thinly sliced and tender, and the noodles had a perfect bouncy chew. Overall, a great experience—we’d definitely recommend Owada and look forward to coming back to try more of the menu.

Had the chirashi bowl it was delicious one of the nicest I’ve ever had. Fish was very fresh and there were many varieties. Rice was cooked perfectly and the egg omelette and cucumber complemented the flavors excellently. Compliments to the chef.

The portions are huge, the prices are super affordable, and everything tastes great. Whether it’s Gyu Don, or a Chirashi deluxe bowl, you’ll leave full and happy. Perfect for a chill meal that’s easy on the wallet!

Pretty good, though a bit pricey for the quality. Service was next to nonexistent.
+ For casual dining it is hard to beat the quality. Very fresh ingredients. Huge portion.
+ Great variety in Chirash bowl. Specifically recommend the Uni, sweet and refreshing.
+ Tempuras. Exactly right level of crispness and not oily at all compared to tempura dishes in other Japanese restaurants in Bay Area.
+ Bento boxes: good variety again, perfect amount of sauces.

Owada has been our go-to for sushi and a bento meal in San Carlos for years now. We’re always greeted with a smile and appreciate the hard working staff here! The chirashi bowl is also incredible bang for your buck.
Vibes are off at Owada. Lighting is painfully bright like at a hospital. Tables are not cleared of food waste even on a slow Tuesday. Pickup order ETA: 35 mins. Actually ready in: 60 mins. Kazoku is much better quality with better prices and service and only two blocks down Laurel St. Kazoku has two chefs working, Owada tries to save money with just one chef. Save your time, save your money, life is too short to eat mid-quality food served with no consideration.

Traveling for business, picked another restaurant based on reviews but this one looked so appealing and sweet! Best decision. My food was delicious, gyoza and a specialty roll. Tall Asahi cold beer. Sweet waitress. Def recommend!

Delicious, everything was delicious. Service was great. Felt like I was in a hospital though. No atmosphere. So it is a great place for sushi and service, zero on atmosphere.

My family loved Ozuma, too, but Owada consistently serves some of the most flavorful sushi anywhere on the SF Peninsula. A little pricy, but absolutely worth it!! Owada’s Chirashi Combo bowl is one of the better dishes I’ve had, with lots of variety in bite-sized pieces.
