Honestly the most fresh and well prepared sushi I have ever had and I eat sushi like it's my job. Get one of the special sushi dinners, you will not be disappointed! 10/10 would

My family loved Ozuma, too, but Owada consistently serves some of the most flavorful sushi anywhere on the SF Peninsula. A little pricy, but absolutely worth it!! Owada’s Chirashi Combo bowl is one of the better dishes I’ve had, with lots of variety in bite-sized pieces.

Ordered takeout. I think the food was ready well before our pickup time because it was cold after the 5 minute drive home. Once we warmed it up it was pretty good.

The servers were very nice and attentive to our needs. But the food was not very good. Maybe just not what we have come to expect from a Japanese restaurant. The fish and tamago for the chirashi were all chopped up and mixed randomly about and didn't taste very good. Parts of the rice in my bento box was overcooked and hard. We won't go again.

We are always looking for good sushi spots. We wanted to try it out since Ozuma closed thankfully. This is our second time here. We brought it to go since they were closing to get ready for dinner. Good food, big portions & friendly staff that are always thankful for your business.

A decent place for noodles and Bento boxes; I took my two kids to this place; we ordered 1 bento box; a beef udon; 2 rolls; tempura, and drinks. About $100 in total. Service is fast, we are the only table at Saturday 7:30. Not a busy place you can tell. Unlike most Japanese places, their sushi and sashimi is priced PER PIECE (not per order of 2 pieces), typical sashimi is 4-5$ PER PIECE, When you read their menu, keep that in mind.

Sushi took a while to make. No sushi bar seating. Work staff had their kids there. No more tvs. Menu is smaller than before at ozuma. CQ come back !

We made reservations for 6PM valentines dinner and was glad we did because people without reservations were turned away. Service was friendly and they were pretty attentive in refilling our waters. We ordered the agedashi tofu as an appetizer and the omakase sashimi and rainbow roll as mains. This was more than enough for a party of two. The agedashi tofu was good. It was crispy on the outside and hot on the inside. The omakase sashimi was mediocre for $78. There were 9 different types of fish in the box and we got two pieces of each. So we really got 18 pieces. There was no fish introduction so we didn't even know what we were eating asides from the obvious ones like salmon and tuna. They definitely went for quantity over quality. Not only do you get two pieces of each, the cuts are pretty big as well. However, the quality suffered as I did not like most of it. The worse ones were the scallops and the uni. From the color of the uni, which was a dull orange with hints of gray/black), I was already very suspicious of it. After putting it my mouth, I immediately want to spit it out cause it had a terrible bitter taste to it. That's probably the worse uni I've ever had. Then the scallops tasted fishy instead of sweet. Overall, this omakase sashimi box is not worth it. For a lower price and better quality, I prefer the omakase box from Rantei. The rainbow was ok, you standard roll for $16. The expectations were met here because they weren't high to begin with. Overall I would only come here for the rolls if I'm looking for some reasonably priced sushi rolls.

I've been going to the Japanese place here since way back before it was Owada. Thought I'd check out the new place in its place. This latest visit, I got:- Agedashi Tofu: very good! crispy and flavorfulBento Dinner:- Tonkatsu: okay, could be crispier and more flavorful- Salmon Sashimi: very fresh and delicious, generous portion- Shrimp Tempura: met my expectation, good sauce- White Rice / Salad side: standardOverall I liked it, the tonkatsu was alright but the rest was really good. Bit on the pricier side, so 4 stars for now. I will be back to try other stuff especially the extensive sushi menu since that's what I enjoyed the most in my meal. I'd recommend you lean toward that part of the menu.Service - attentive and friendly.Ambiance - normal, a bit bright in my opinion could look a lot better with dimmer lights.

2 words: fresh and thick!I came in a Friday evening on a date. It was fairly slow, we had no issues with the street parking. I came for 2 reasons - the Chirashi bowl and the Omakase. This is my first Chirashi bowl, and I was satisfied with the beautiful and vibrant presentation. Each cut of the Omakase was quite thick. The fish is also super fresh, you can tell by how firm they are. I have to say that flavor of both orders were fairly mild, more mild than my preferred pallet. However, it was good for balancing out the miso soup, which was a little too salty. The shrimp tempura was laughably small. The overall ambiance was pretty nice. Everything inside looked clean. Our table was pretty small, but that wasn't a problem because the service was great. Each order was brought individually and was paced very well. They refilled our teas and picked up our trash from opening up chopsticks. They were very considerate about not interrupting us, while still giving us a friendly smile. I also appreciated the waitress who warned us that we were ordering too much, as we initially planned to place 2 orders of the Omakase. Glad she did that, because by the end of our meal with just 1 order of the Omakase, we were beyond full.

Very cute place down the street from us! We came here on a whim because we were craving Japanese food and didn't want to drive. Happy to know that a great little place is available for us whenever we are in the mood again! We ordered the beef bento special and the lion king roll. Both were delicious! I can't say the lion king roll I had was the best one I've ever had, but it is not bad, so I definitely won't complain!Service was so quick, attentive, and very sweet! Our waitress really seemed like she loved her job. I appreciate that!

Definitely my new favorite place in San Carlos to get sushi. If you're looking for authentic, fresh, delicious food this is the place to go. I told my boyfriend how these were the best California rolls I've had in San Carlos because they just melt in your mouth! I didn't think the edamame beans would be anything crazy but they were honestly unforgettable, served hot, and packed with flavor. All of the fish was so fresh and the rolls were so big! Lastly, the servers were on top of everything and our food came out in a timely manner. Wonderful experience overall!

Great food, having been used to high Japanese food standards in Tokyo I was really pleasantly surprised to find this restaurant in San Carlos. Will definitely be visiting here again
