Got a large iced americano here. The coffee was ok but I noticed that they charged me the price for an XL ($.50 more) and the cup was only filled up 3/4 of the way at most. So it felt a little like a ripoff. I also ordered a baklava which was sticky, sweet, and tasty and paired well with the coffee.

A San Carlos tradition. Regulars flock here to enjoy warm conversation over freshly brewed coffees from around the world and an assortment of fresh pastries. The owner is warm, hard-working and trusting as customers go behind the counter to refill their cups while pondering their next reply to the friendly debate amongst friends. I encourage you to gather friends and begin your own tradition. Or come alone, as I, and take in the warm and inviting atmosphere and top notch coffee and fare.

I bought two types of beans for home grinding and roasting but they were average, at best. IMHO, the beans didn’t seem to be roasted correctly as they tasted overly bitter and tasted stale but the owners were very nice and the atmosphere seemed quaint.

For connoisseurs of coffee and people. Freshly roasted ground coffee, international whole beans by the pound, abundant pastries to pair them with and the friendliest owner I could imagine. If you want assembly line coffee and service, go elsewhere. If you're looking for a relaxed, welcoming and human environment, spend some time at Plantation.

I love this place! Coffee is always fresh and tasty. Every single menu is so delicious here. You should try their bagel sandwiches. They use a real egg and the quality is so good. Even the price is 1-2 dollars cheaper than other coffee shops. The owners are so nice. Sue knows what customers want and need. The place is always clean and super cozy. One more, their gelato is amazing too. Much cheaper than other gelato store but mmm~~yummy!!

I have celiac disease, so I get the açaí bowl without granola very tasty, but sometimes a little liquidy. Their iced lattes are good, but they're strong so if you don't like strong, I wouldn't recommend.

I really wanted to like this place but my coffee was more than an hour old. Coffee should be changed every hour because coffee does get stale. My coconut ice cream from Mitchell's was also old. It had a cake like texture and tasted like old cottage cheese. I eat ice cream from the Mitchell's location as well as other ice cream places all the time, and this was definitely not the right taste/texture. The caramel came from the bottom refrigerator and had a funky taste to it, like it absorbed the odors from the refrigerator. I ended up throwing away both my drink and the sundae. I really hope they improve on both these things because I really want to support this local coffee house.

This is my favorite coffee shop in San Carlos. The coffee is always good, there’s always space on the patio, and sometimes you get the amazing smell of roasting coffee beans.

Horrible service! I wanted to order a bagel. I asked the lady ( I think she is the owner) if the egg was fry or boiled and she her answer was “microwave I don’t have a kitchen here and gesture with her hand to leave the place”. I wanted to support a small business but it’s impossible with that service. The pastries looked awful, it doesn’t look like good quality stuff. Costco has better looking pastries.

Unnecessarily rudeWe've lived in San Carlos for 8 years and I've always taken my daughters to get ice cream here even though the prices keep going up ($6 for a mini now) to support local businesses. That changed today when we had such a rude and frankly surprisingly hostile interaction with the woman who owns plantation. Our 5 year old wanted ice cream but was thirsty so we stopped in and asked for a cup of water before we ordered, and I can only assume the woman was annoyed that I didn't buy a bottle of water. She glared at us the whole time and as I went to throw a cup in the trash she stomped over, took the cup out of the trash and yelled "NO YOU DONT DO THAT" and poured the liquid into a bucket next to the trash and waved the cup around angrily and then put it back in. We and other customers were so shocked at how angry she was and my kid was confused and scared so we left without ice cream.I don't know what all is going on to make her react that way, but if you don't want liquids in your trash just put up a sign. The little bucket was not obviously for that, and also I noticed she didn't wash her hands after reaching into the trash which is also concerning. We will be going to Gelataio and Tutti Frutti from now on.

I was very disappointed with this place. I didn't like the coffee.
