We get takeout from this place every once in a while. Is a great place for takeout- they package everything nicely and the service is great. The food is just to our liking- can be spicy or totally not spicy (great for young kids). The samosas are some of our favorite anywhere and they have a wide variety of breads. Overall a really good place if you are craving Indian food.

New menu, new decor. Amazing paneer dishes, delicious tandoori.

Five of us went for the Sunday buffet dinner. We were there around 5:30 which was perfect because it got crowded and rowdy by the time we had made a trip or two through the offerings. We even saw some rug rats eating straight off the buffet. But the fault there lies with the parents. The food was good, and there were plenty of options for vegetarians. The 90 year old grumpy guy who doesn't like anything spicy was pleased too. The service was good and we would return.

The buffet has many choices for all including vegetarians. Everything from salad, to various veggie and meat dishes to dessert. I have never been disappointed. Friendly, prompt service too. No wonder it is so busy! This is a great place.

This is one of my regular restaurants for lunch with people coming down the peninsula from San Francisco. Parking in San Carlos is easy and free, and the train station is nearby. Saffron does a good buffet at lunchtime - they are happy for you to visit the buffet line more than once - and there are a couple of desserts plus chai to end. The food ranges from very mild to very spicy. It can be a good idea to have a small amount and then go back when you've determined which is the kind of food that works for your palate, especially as the dishes can have some variety in spice level from visit to visit! Butter chicken is always good. Naan bread is delivered to your table while you are at the buffet. Usual range of drinks. Decor is colorful but not garish. Peak eating time is 12:30pm - arrive at 11:30am if you want a choice of table - and by 1:30pm the restaurant is empty. The wait staff are friendly and helpful, if sometimes a little overwhelmed (getting the check can take more than a moment).

It seems they are no longer trying. The food is still good, but not as good as it used to be, We recently had Butter chicken and garlic naan. If you had not had either from this restaurant before you would not complain but you would not think this Indian restaurant was any better than any of the other in the area.

Very tasty food with all the standard dishes, especially liked the tandoori prawns, bhindi, dal, parathas, rice pudding etc.

I visited Saffron Indian Bistro during Sept 2018 for dinner. They serve yummy Indian food. There are limited options in the menu yet sufficient to choose from. I found most of them delightful. Will certainly consider for my upcoming trip to Bay area.

Here slightly by accident as we were heading to a sports bar next door, now closed down!! So we decided to give it a go, and were very glad we did. Great selection of beer, poppadom to start with, good selection of curry's to choose from and we had a very enjoyable election of main courses, rices and naan breads which all made up for our lack of a sports bar and a burger. Good service and a reasonable bill all made up to be an experience that I'd be happy to repeat!

We ate dinnee here on a Sunday for Father's Day since my husband loves Indian food. Turnes out they had a buffwt going on.im not a fan of Indian food in general, but between their butter chicken, deep oried vegetable nuggets, salad and desserts in the buffet, i had a food meal. Huvby really likes just about everything. They serce wine and beer as well.
