Very good Indian food and cocktails. Not completely typical north Indian food but not crazy innovation like at Rooh which is weird. Enjoyed the food here.Vegetarian options: As an Indian restaurant there are quite a few vegetarian dishes.Parking: There is a large parking garage a few blocks away.

The vibes in the restaurant are amazing and the staff are so kind. The food looks exquisite and tastes good but I was really hoping it would taste better. Overall a great dine in experience.

Okay at best... We've had better food at less than half the price. The taste was very ordinary. I've tried Rasa (which was rebranded to Saffron) and the food was so much better so this was a disappointment.

Title: "Rainbow After Rain: Saffron's Culinary Odyssey"Three Words: Exquisite, Enchanting, MemorableAt Saffron, amidst the gentle patter of rain in San Carlos, every dish is a masterpiece. The Traditional Lamb Curry and Old Deli Style Butter Chicken are not merely served; they are presented with an elegance that mirrors the artistry behind their creation. Each bite is a revelation of flavors, deeply rooted in Indian culinary tradition, yet elevated by a contemporary touch. The Basmati Rice, fluffy and aromatic, serves as the perfect canvas for these vibrant dishes. Crisp Papad and a bold Spicy Chili Chutney complement the entrees, adding layers of texture and heat that tantalize the palate. The ambiance, enriched by the subtle accent of a rainbow framing the early spring evening, envelops diners in a cocoon of warmth and sophistication. The meticulous attention to detail in the presentation of the food—each plate a tableau of color and creativity—echoes the restaurant's commitment to excellence.Service at Saffron is nothing short of impeccable. The staff, attired in outfits that pay homage to their rich cultural heritage, move with a grace and efficiency that enhances the dining experience. Their knowledge and passion for the cuisine shine through in every interaction, making guests feel valued and well-cared for.As the meal unfolds, the rainy backdrop and the promise of a rainbow add a poetic dimension to the evening, reminding us that food is not just sustenance; it is an experience, a journey that can transport us to distant lands and times. Saffron, with its exquisite blend of food, service, and ambiance, invites us on this journey, offering a taste of India that is as memorable as it is delicious. In this haven, where culinary excellence meets heartfelt hospitality, every visit is an occasion, every dish a celebration of the rich tapestry of Indian cuisine.

Fantastic restaurant. I was late for dinner, came just a few minutes before closure. The host was very polite and offered full menu without any restrictions.I ordered chai, paneer butter masala, chana, tandoori roti, and laccha parantha with a side of rice. Pretty much everything tastes good. Chana and chai were the best.

I recently ate at Saffron, and really enjoyed the food. They have excellent north Indian food. Everything was delicious, especially the tandoori starters and the butter chicken.

Very nice Indian from the person who brought us Rasa, a Michelin-star Indian restaurant in Burlingame. Saffron is a more casual affair, but it's certain to satisfy you if you're looking for quality Indian cuisine.

Food was not that tasty, but ambiance is too gud

The food was mediocre and service was quite problematic. I attempted to order an Italian sparkling wine, but the waiter insisted it was too sweet for my taste. Despite reassuring him of my preference, he continued to push for an alternative from the menu. Not wanting to cause any offense, I reluctantly agreed. The recommended sparkling wine turned out pretty flat. It became apparent that I had been coerced into selecting it, likely because the bottle had already been opened. Be prepared to deal with such manipulative tactics if you go. I won’t be returning.

I am surprised and deceived by a high rating of this restaurant here which made me go there in the first place. The food is bland and no dish right from the masala tea to the chicken is exceptional. The food is bland and if you have lived in India, you won't enjoy it. Very pricey. I don't recommend it. There are many better, affordable Indian places sin the bay area which are far superior.
