Sakura Teppanyaki and Sushi | San Carlos

We tried the rainbow, giant, and shrimp tempura rolls at Sakura Sushi. While the rolls tasted good and were well-prepared, the portion sizes were surprisingly small. If you're planning to dine here, I recommend ordering more than you would at other sushi spots to ensure you're satisfied. The flavors are solid, but be ready for smaller bites!

We’re regulars. It has been our go-to for sushi and meals that agree with the whole family. The food quality really got a boost 2-3 years ago so we started enjoying it more often. We also enjoy the tepanyaki (grill, fire, and theatrics) for the kids birthdays. San Carlos has some great restaurants. Sakura is a wonderful.

We had our 11 yo daughter's birthday party there and it was absolutely perfect for them!!! 9 friends sat around a u-shaped Hibachi while the chef kept them entertained with antics. The food was yummy, but what really made it for me was the wonderful Maria, who could not have been nicer as we planned and emailed back and forth. She's a true gem and I hope management will keep her!!!

back in the day when I was just a young middle schooler and this was the only place we could afford, but it was still such an amazing food. The chicken fried rice and the California rolls are only five or six bucks, but they’ll still fill you up and you’ll have an amazing time. The waiters don’t mind that you’re not gonna spend that much and it’s a very welcoming and a nice atmosphere and I just have so many summer memories eating there and enjoying it life.

We commute from San Francisco just to dine at this delightful establishment. I first tried it last year for our anniversary, and we were thoroughly impressed. Consistently excellent service from the staff, and the food is simply unmatched.
