I have had a terrible experience with this establishment. I live in Southern California and wanted to send some cupcakes to my dear friend, & business partner in San Carlos , for his Birthday. I first spoke to the “ Susie Cakes Support Team”, apparently a third party organization. They were rude and made it very clear that I could not customize a box of cupcakes . Needless to say I called the bakery directly to see if this was true . They said NO, and that I could customize an order . Money was no issue and I just wanted a dozen cupcakes . The order was to be delivered today , Oct . 29. I was guaranteed that it would be picked up at 12:30 and delivers at 1:00. NONE of this happened . At 1:15 I had not heard from my friend , so I called the bakery directly and Angela told me that the order was still sitting at the bakery because they said that Carla didn’t write out the address correct. I had left my cell phone number , if there were ANY issues , as this delivery was a surprise. So, the1 hour and 15 minutes after the order was to be picked up and delivered .. nothing had been done . No call to me , no delivery . Angela blamed Carla and I blamed Angela for not checking the orders and deliveries for the day . She admitted that she really messed up . The entire process was a mess and the lack of care or customer service was unacceptable.
I had to figure out the situation for them .
As of this review , 3:12 my friend still does not have his cupcakes .
I would never recommend this place for anything
P.S. My friend just received the cupcakes at 3:20, and to add insult to injury, they spelled his name wrong on his cupcake . I am totally embarrassed, thanks to SusieCakes .

Susie’s in San Carlos is simply the best! The cupcakes are absolutely delicious they taste fresh and amazing every single time. You can really tell the quality in every bite. And the staff? The girls are the cherry on top! They are so kind, helpful, and genuinely nice, which makes the whole experience even better. Honestly, it doesn’t get any better than this. Highly recommend!

Love this cake shop! Their cupcakes are delicious and have a prefect frosting to cake ratio! The cakes are delectable! My favorites are the marble and carrot cake! The staff are always so welcoming and friendly!

They are so rude and they dont take cash
I recently ordered a birthday cake(vanilla flavored) and it was so sweet it was hard to even eat a piece of it. None of my friends and family liked it. I had also called the store ahead of time asking if they can make it less sweet but they rejected saying it was some recipe that they follow. Wouldn’t recommend this place if you’re ordering a cake which is not too sweet and your friends and family hope to like it.

I went on 6-12-25 to get a birthday cake. The cakes were displayed beautifully and the service was amazing however they do not display price and do not take cash. We cut the cake, started eating it and WOW way too sweet and very dense. For $62 I expected better. Won’t be going back.
Ordered a custom cake for birthday and it was VERY SWEET and the icing on cake was shabby & their font of writing on the cake is so bad. HIGHLY DISAPPOINTED.
We ordered a custom carrot cake for a birthday, and everyone raved about it! Thank you!
I've been enjoying their goodies for years. I went in recently for a couple of cookies (snickerdoodle and one of the peanut butter sandwich cookies). Cookies were great, looked at my card statement a couple of days later, $13 plus change (I did include a 10% tip). Holy Mackerel, I know everything is going up, however, a bit pricey for a couple of cookies. Oh well.
I bought a single vanilla cupcake with whiskey buttercream, and the buttercream was delicious, but the cake was very, very dry and flavorless.

They tell you you have a free slice to claim and to come into the shop. Once you go there, they say they can’t see the reward and can’t give you the slice and you’re welcome to buy. Smells like a total scam. We actually used to buy from here before they did this. Lost a loyal customer for no reason.

First I'm disabled in an electric wheelchair, I was struggling to get in the door & NO one offered to help.
2nd after choosing my purchase I was told they do NOT accept cash payment & REFUSED to allow me to pay with cash.
I find this VERY disturbing that an American business would discriminate against anyone without plastic. This segregates classes of people. Aporophobic vibe.
Also there was NO signage stating they do NOT accept cash.
You should clearly & boldly put signage on your front door announcing your aporophobic practices "NO CASH ACCEPTED "
Kid-friendliness: NOT KID FRIENDLY.
THEY REFUSE TO ACCEPT CASH, MOST KIDS CARRY CASH.
Wheelchair accessibility: NO THEY ARE UNHELPFUL. THEY DO NOT OFFER TO HELP YOU IN THE DOOR & THEY ACT LIKE YOU ARE AN INCONVENIENCE.
THEY DO NOT ACCEPT CASH & THEY MAKE NO ACCEPTIONS.
