I came here on a Friday night (along with my mom) for dancing. Crowd seemed to be all ages - some young adult, some middle aged, and also a number of older folks too. Lots of partner dances, two step, and then sets of 5-6 line dances. Bar had a three drink minimum and if you want water you have to pay for it. Lots of seating areas outside of the dance floor. There was the main dance floor and then a stage which was also used for dancing. I was told the stage holds a band when they do live music. They had a good mix of songs - not just country for the line dancing. Most of the pure country was during the two step. I liked the mix! Overall a good spot! I witnessed so many more partner dances (so many cha chas!) that I had no idea existed.

I went here for an hour and the place is just okay. There is a 3 drink minimum for credit and debit cards. No free water unless you made a purchase or buy $3 cup of water. The lady at the entrance with long grey hair is rude. Should definitely have someone more inviting working the window the welcome the patrons in. The security was nice though. They have a good selection of beer and mixed drinks. Seating is limited so get there early. There is no bar seating or standing. Security will come around and ask you to move away. They teach dancing at 7 however it's very quick. The dance floor is not for beginners. Only experienced dancers or they will remove you from the floor. The music was a little dated and not much a variety of today's country old school. Overall the experience was okay for it being my first time there. I might try it again. However it you're looking for a more lively crowd I recommend Cowboy Country instead!

Be careful of old crotchety white haired lady at the front window. If you joke at all she won't let you in. In fact, she's is meaner than the meanest TSA dudes. Do NOT joke about the $10 fee to get in. It's just like saying bomb in line at security at the airport. She wouldn't let me in and I'm 43! Lol. Super glad she didn't because I had a great time and instantly remembered why I HATE going to Montanas but it was someone's bday and I was being forced. Thanks old crotchety white haired lady for saving me and 10 others from giving y'all any of our money.

Discrimination. Upon entering your age and looks are considered for entry. Lied to at entry by the bouncer. ID must be current or no entry. My ID says I'm over 50 yrs old and beautiful. They took my money, and then I had to force them to get it back. Terrible service!! It's not worth it.

My boyfriend and I love Montana's! My first time here was around December when our previous go-to line dancing place, Brandin Iron closed. Ever since our first visit Montana's has been the place for us to go to every Saturday night. Everyone is super nice and the security at the front always greets us super nicely every weekend. The bartenders are great and make amazing drinks, i do wish they had food though. The music is awesome and the dancefloor is a great size. If you aren't there early finding a seat/table might take a while but they have a free coat check area which I love, I can put my purse and jacket there so I am free to dance before I find someplace to sit. Overall, I am so glad my boyfriend and I found a new place to go line dancing :)

The reviews had me sooooo nervous to have a 30th bday party for a group of 30-somethings who have Down syndrome. I was scared it would be uninviting and unaccepting. We had the opposite experience of every negative review. Two people didn't have ID and I had already paid and thought (because of reviews) that's that, they came and found me and refunded me. You can dance on the UPPER stage if you don't know or want to dance what they call out. The regulars were super friendly, came and chatted with us. Service was quick/nice. Drinks were good! No complaints!!

Horrible establishment all around, the music is awful and the bouncers are always trying to provoke a fight. If you want to go to a country bar that doesn't play country music, has a ridiculous cover charge, and bouncers that try to beat you up, this is your spot. Look at all the other reviews, enough said.

I bumped down my rating just slightly, and it took me a while to do this because I was a little conflicted. I love this bar and dance hall. It's one of my favorite places to go and we've been going for years and still plan to come back. There's a drink my friends and I like drinking, but it's not a widely known drink and has different names based on where you go, so I have the recipe card saved on my phone just in case. The last time we went, I waited to talk to a bar tender and showed them the drink card to ask if he could make it, absolutely willing to hear no, and I'd take a cranberry vodka instead. The bartender snapped at me about not taking requests when it's busy but still made the drink. We made sure to tip well on our tab when we closed out and just ordered "standard" drinks the rest of the time, but it soured the experience a little since we'd never had an issue before.

The music is absolute trash and it’s super communist. Ironic for a republican bar. Couldn’t even stand or dance without being told what to do. Also music sucked and when I requested I was reprimanded. Don’t go here.

There's a reason why people come here from all over SoCal to dance on a Friday and/or Saturday night! From all over I mean Victorville, Indio/Palm Desert, Lancaster, Santa Clarita, Simi Valley, Glendale, Costa Mesa, Riverside, Oceanside, and any other side of California you can think of.....They have a DJ (Jeremy) that keeps people stomping on one of the biggest dance floors of any nightclub. Yes, the type of music has changed because of the new generation of line-dancers. You have to recognize that or get left behind!Sorry, not sorry this isn't the late 90-early 2000's anymore. Many of line dances like Boot Scoot and Boogie, Coastin, Rock It, Tush Push, 10-step, and others are seldomly played....Electric Slide, Powerjam, M.I.B., Slappin' Leather, Watermelon Crawl, Tush Push, Mmm bop, Black Velvet are still in the rotation nowadays.....They do play a lot of two-step and older (and newer) traditional couples dances. Like Cowboy/Denver/El Paso Chacha's, Sweetheart Schottische, Desperado Wrap, Horseshoe, Drifter and Texas Time.....They do not serve food, but you are welcome to bring whatever food you like.....You can go to any other club on a Friday and Saturday night. But I guarantee you, it will not be as busy as Montana's.....it's far and away the #1 choice for country dancing in all of SoCal!

Zero Stars! I want my gas money back! They need to change the name or stop calling it a country bar. The music being played 90% of the night was pop music and hip hop. Drove all the way there 35 minutes to listen to good country music . Got here about 8:30pm -12:00am they played maybe 8 or 9 Country songs the entire night. I slipped the DJ a note said "I thought I came to a country bar.?" His response to me over the MIC was "Thats what you get for thinking!" Really Mister DJ maybe you should get a side job doing backyard parties for College Students!!! By the way Mr. DJ the 2 cents in your tip jar was from me. This was my 2 cents gift to you for being an A@@Don't waste your time driving here this is not a country bar. Go to Cowboy Country in Long Beach. Now that's a Country bar with great music.

went here for a friends birthday, paid 3 entrance fees. One of us had an expired id so we did not end up entering. We we're not reimbursed the entrance fee for not going in. avoid this place like the plague.

If zero stars was an option I would have chosen that. Went here with my wife and friends, and out of no where a random guy (a regular at Montana’s who was drunk) starts accusing me of harassing/assaulting females. (My wife was by my side/ holding my hand the entire night and I was sober). Before accusing me he talked with all of his bouncers buddies and had them all swarm me while he tried to start a fight (if you think I’m going to fight 7+ bouncers your out of your mind). Long story short if you’re not apart of the Montana cult they accuse you of things, single you out and start drama. Do not recommend. Not normally the type of person to right a review but when you accuse me of something like this and have every bouncer in the bar ready to jump me I have to make it known. And if you look at the one star reviews jumping people seems to be a trend.

BOUNCER (JOSHUA) MADE A JOKE ABOUT SPIKING A DRINK.My friend goes to Montana's often and made friends with this guy. But last night, she was by herself and kept her eye on her drink, but he comes up to her and says "I spiked your drink." And my friend was like "Uh, what? No you didn't I was paying attention."Later on, he comes up to her again and say "You feeling it yet? I put a couple in there you should feel it soon."My friend says "Hey like I know you're joking but the reason why I come to this bar because I feel safe so I know you won't let anything happen to me."AND HE SAYS "Out of everyone here I'm the one that would be doing bad things to you."WHAT THE LITERAL HELL. If you're going to this place, DO NOT GO ALONE.

Great place, great community of people and staff! More spacious then other country bars in the area and they have free lessons from 7-8.
