Arrived at 6:45 pm on a Saturday night and the restaurant was relatively quiet. We were seated and served quickly. In our party of 7, the consensus was that the food was decent, but not great. Both the chicken and the shrimp enchilada entrees were extremely salty and neither was very flavorful. The two salad entrees were both described as mainly iceberg lettuce with rather bland toppings. The three taco platters were described as good but not great. At the $20 plus price point for the entrees we were expecting a more elevated dining experience but did not get it. We've had much better meals at the $15 price point. Also, I did not appreciate that, without mentioning it when we sat down, the restaurant stuck a mandatory 20% gratuity on our bill because we were a party of seven. I understand some restaurants charge a mandatory gratuity for larger parties, but charge it at the 15% price point with an option to provide more if the service is excellent.
What a find! We had great food and service a this place. Will definitely be back next time we come through town.
California Tacos is a fabulous eating experience. We do not like SLO, due to their parking issues but there is plenty of parking at California Tacos so we make the drive which is about an hour to experience this wonderful culinary delight. I love the shrimp cocktail for dinner, it is filled with huge shrimp and the sauce is wonderful. We love the service and the dining is comfortable.
Both diners had the shrimp burrito as we were attracted by the mango salsa. Very good. The chips and salsa were also above average. We tried the salsas that would have come with wet burritos, and were not impressed. Great service.
Great birria tacos with some fun margarita options. The team here is super friendly and helpful. Loved the overall vibes of the place. Will definitely be back!

San Luis doesn't have much in the way of good Mexican food, but the tacos here never disappoint. Taco Tuesday and happy hour deals are a plus. Ask for a side of their creamy green sauce, it's delicious!

The food was delicious. Tortillas, Fajitas and Tacos outstanding,! The service was lackluster. Nice restaurant , noise level noisy but not outrageously so. We will return.
Our waitress was super helpful, attentive, and provided amazing recommendations. We also plan to sit outside as we brought our dog with us, but it was a little bit cold and they were happy to allow our dog to sit in the restaurant.
This place was a Yelp find and we were so happy we did. The food was amazing 10 out of 10 would totally recommend.

it could've been a bit more attentive to our needs at that moment though not a bad spot at all.
Went on Cinco de Mayo and it was a full house. The service was on point and the Cali Margaritas are $10 all day on Mondays - great value and authentic taste. For starters, the Ensalada Alejandro was delicious and refreshing - arugula, strawberries, grapes, mango salsa and raspberry vinaigrette - we split that and no problem bringing two plates! Then we had filet mignon tacos - so tender and full of flavor. Their corn tortillas are freshly handmade and are so good. We also had three flavor fajitas - shrimp, chicken and beef with bell peppers, onion, rice, beans and more of those fabulous tortillas. It was my partner's birthday so they brought a warm brownie with ice cream and whipped cream with a big candle. Overall, such a nice experience! We go quite often and they are very consistent with their service, ambiance and delicious food. Love this place!
Walked in with my wife. Told us to have a seat then continued to service and greet others. After being completely neglected we got up and left. Really disappointed that the wifey didn’t get to try this place

The noise level was terrible. We had to move to another table just to hear ourselves speak to each other.
our waiter, Harrison, was the best. My best friend and I went there for tacos and a beer and had a great experience. Will definitely be going back there again! Tacos were infused with flavor..
