I asked a very prominent Edna Valley grape farmer who the next up-and-coming wine maker in Edna Valley was, and he pointed me to El Lugar and their wine maker Coby Parker-Garcia. I dropped by their tasting room next to Ancient Owl and was absolutely blown away by the quality of their wines - the best tasting I’ve done on the Central Coast perhaps ever. They are very Pinot Noir heavy, which isn’t even one of my favorite varietals, but the artful skill of the winemaker shines...
I have truly never joined a wine club faster in my life! These pinots are nearly immaculate and could easily fetch a higher price point! Coby is able to bring out the delicate differences between the vineyards and creates wines that are delicious to drink and interesting to discuss. Such a great addition to the Central Coast wine scene!
El Lugar is a must visit! If you are a Pinot lover or wine lover then you have to stop here. Coby makes some of the best wines that I have had. Their Syrah's are my personal favorite. Shout out to Mike the tasting room manager as well! He does an amazing job running a well polished experience. Highly recommend!
