Ok, maybe Monday was not the best night to go, but the pork ribs taste day-old. Brisket is shredded and also tasted day old, not much smokey flavor. Btw, why not serve sliced brisket? Beans were delicious, slaw was bland and too wet with vinaigrette. Bbq sauce decent, but mustard bbq sauce was too tart. No real ambiance, you’re expected to eat outside at the picnic tables - some limited seating at an inside bar.

This barbecue spot is seriously gold!! Their smoked meats are the absolute best and I highly recommend both the smoked chicken and turkey. The service is fantastic and we love enjoying our meal outside on the dog friendly patio. Highly recommend checking this place out!

Glad this exists in SLO because there’s just something special about low and slow BBQ. Gold Land BBQ seems inspired by a lot of techniques and flavors from the south but blends in “California” very nicely. All the ingredients tasted fresh and with great quality. The meats and sides all seemed meticulously thought out. There was something different with each bite that didn’t seem “traditional” but the flavors all balanced well together making you want to eat more to figure out what.The dealer’s choice was a great way to try and sample nearly everything. Feeds 3-4 adults well or maybe up to 5-6 if there’s kids or folks less hungry. Give this place a try, go to it often. Seems great for lunch or take out for dinner. We need to support places like Gold Land BBQ if we want to keep delicious food like theirs in SLO.
It smelled so good when I walked in to order. Chopped brisket sandwich was very good and overall, was a great dining experience.
