We stopped here for a quick sandwich. We expected fresh bread from a bakery and Boar’s head as advertised on their window. The bread was cold as it was taken out of the fridge and the deli was cheap meat and cheese with a slice of tomato skin.

This is my favorite bakery, where I stop by to grab a Friday guilty-pleasure cinnamon roll.

The best cinnamon rolls ever. Many other choices of cookies bread muffins and bagels. Made fresh every day. And they have a sample board. Where you can try different items. Awesome 👌 👏 👍

The bread at House of Bread is excellent. I'm happy to be able to enjoy good bread without having to make it myself. I believe that House of Bread is the only place in the city where one can find whole wheat bread that's fresh and made with only a few ingredients, not to mention having good texture and being tasty! I like being able to purchase the loaf unsliced, too.

Please consider purchasing your weekly loaf of bread here -- if not already doing so -- to help this local business stay in business.

Also, the staff is courteous and polite.

This is definitely the "go to" place for fresh bread, cookies, and pastries! Walking into the bakery, there is the ambience of "old school"" baking as evident with the large revolving ovens and other baking equipment. It was especially nice to see an iconic bread slicer. I have not seen one of those since my early Navy days making fresh bread. The breads there are so many different varieties and all are great! The aroma of all the baking will keep you inside the place for quite some time. They also make lunch sandwiches and there is nothing like a good sandwich on freshly made bread. Had the Italian Grinder and it was awesome with a good cup of coffee. The bread menu changes and there is a schedule on their website. Very cool to know what they are going to make each day. The person on shift was very friendly, helpful and made recommendations. Provided samples to try which was a nice touch. Very informative and also shared the Farmhouse store offered bakery classes. There is more information about these classes on the website that include online classes and a podcast. Well worth checking out. Place is a "must stop" while visiting SLO or just driving through. Makes for a great road stop while traveling on the 101 as it is not far off the exit. Also a great stop while attending the weekly SLO Farmers Market.

For a bakery the bread on their cheesesteak sandwich was honestly terrible. The fillings didnt make up for it either. (Informed that i reviewed the wrong location, maybe this location is better I will have to try it) 4 stars until I do

Hard to order just one thing! Everything baked fresh and in house. They have a day old rack that tastes just as good as the fresh breads and muffins! Dinner rolls and herb breads are all incredible. Love the cinnamon bread and raspberry frosted bread. The chocolate zucchini bread tastes like a chocolate cake. All sooooo goodddd

Best place to get fresh bread. Everyone is very friendly too and they serve samples which is dangerous because you’ll want to buy it all! We recently tried their lemon blueberry loaf and it was insanely good. It went very quickly in our home.

Have only been there once, won’t go back because the sourdough loaf I got was not cooked, super claggy and inedible. Hope their other food is better.
