Jay Bird's San Luis Obispo

Tried this place for the first time and was seriously impressed. The chicken was perfectly crispy on the outside and super juicy inside, with just the right amount of heat and amazing flavor. The sides were just as good. Everything felt fresh and well-made, not just thrown together. If you're a fan of bold flavors and crispy, spicy chicken done right, this place is a must-try.

Excellent fried chicken and waffles. Chicken can be ordered with any level of spice and a selection of dipping sauces. Waffles are mini (2) per order and are served with butter and syrup.

I always have a good experience expect when one girl, I believe her name is Zayde, takes my orders and especially when she makes them.
The blazin fries usually comes with one tender, she may have gotten lazy yesterday and used less then half of a tender and hardly put any fries in the box.

One of my favorite places, as I absolutely love their Blazing Fries (mix of fries, tenders, and mac-n-cheese mixed together with their sauce.

But, my word, I cannot give them 5-stars with the ridiculous closing time of 7:00pm on non-weekend days. Give me a break! It’s summer, and it doesn’t even get dark until 8:00pm. I dropped by at 7:05, and the SLO Public Market dining area was as packed as I’ve ever seen it…and, yet, closed?

Limited sauces, lots of spice, chicken well cooked but nothing too great?! Sorry just being bonest

I have never been in here. Its location is nice, but the parking sucks. Great food. Love the mix of American and Mexican food . Salsas are ok. It's a bit salty, but the hot one is good. I recommend this spot.

I placed an online order an hour in advance because I had to drive an hour to come pick up the food. I really usually enjoy the food and so to me it was worth it. I figured an hour was enough time for them to get the order ready because it said there was a 40 minute wait. I showed up a few minutes early and they had not even started preparing my food and they told me that it wasn’t due for pick up until 1 PM. They were very rude and short with me. I was very respectful and patient. When I went to leave , and get in my car to head back to work nearly an hour away I realized that the cheese had been added to my blaze and fries, even though I had requested that it was on the side because I wouldn’t be able to eat until I And I didn’t want my fries soggy I tried calling the store let them know and possibly get refunded or just have another order made at another time and there was no answer the two or three times that I called. I’m very disappointed because I won’t be able to enjoy my food And I don’t know how to get recourse to fix this. Their food is usually really good and I’ve never had this issue so hopefully someone can call me or send me an email to make it right.

Love that you can control the spice level. We each got something different. I appreciate that they also offer a one tender option for a small bite. Definitely recommend the chicken mac sandwich and the comeback sauce.
