I wasn't able to try their sushi, which I do know is what they are known for, so my review may be a bit biased. I ordered their undon noodle soup with chicken, mixed veggies, and mixed tempura on the side. Their tempura was pretty good. It was crispy and not oily! My favorite one was the pumpkin! Their borth on the other hand was not as good. There wasn't enough flavor. It felt like an under seasoned chicken broth soup (I think I tasted more of the cabbage than anything...
My friends all go for the sushi, but I enjoy their other dishes like the bulgolgi. I appreciate that their non-sushi offerings are as strong as their sushi offerings, which makes it easier to go with groups with mixed preferences.
Had lunch at Kumi Ko in SLO and it was a great experience! We ordered several rolls, an entree, salad, and some sashimi—and everything was fresh and flavorful. The rolls were well-made and didn’t skimp on the fish, and the sashimi was clean and nicely cut. The lunch portions were generous, especially for the price. Service was friendly and quick, and the vibe was casual and relaxed—perfect for a midday meal. Definitely a solid lunch spot if you’re in the mood for Japanese...
