I wandered into this place on a whim and was immediately charmed by the creekside patio—it's like dining in a secret garden. The ambiance was serene, with the gentle sound of water and twinkling lights overhead. I started with the avocado-shrimp spring rolls, which were fresh and flavorful. For the main course, I had the lamb risotto special; the lamb was tender, and the risotto was creamy and well-seasoned. The service was attentive without being overbearing. However, the dessert menu was a bit limited, and the bathrooms could use some updating. Overall, it was a delightful experience that I'd gladly repeat

We had a wonderful dining experience at Novo Restaurant in San Luis Obispo. The setting is absolutely beautiful, especially the creekside patio, which offers a serene and charming atmosphere that makes the meal feel extra special.
The food was excellent — every dish was flavorful, well-prepared, and thoughtfully presented. You can tell the kitchen puts real care into what they serve.
The combination of great food, friendly service, and such a lovely outdoor location right by the creek makes Novo a true gem in SLO. We’ll definitely return on our next visit!

Went with my husband on his work trip, and he suggested we try this restaurant since he liked it the last time he was here for a work trip. We made reservations online and were seated creekside. It was a bit chilly, but they had heaters. We ordered the ahi crab roll since he tried that last time and said it was delicious. Also decided to try the shrimp spring rolls since I love spring rolls. The appetizers were a lot of food for the two of us. For the ahi tuna roll, I thought it would be just rolls and didn't realize there would be small amounts of chopped up ahi in addition. Their spring rolls were large compared to the Vietnamese spring rolls I'm used to. Both appetizers were delicious, and I would order it again. I got the lobster gnocchi (to keep the seafood theme going), and the husband got the green Thai curry. Lobster gnocchi was creamy and indulgent. Just writing about it makes me want to order another bowl. The husband ordered the curry with just extra chapati since he didn't want the rice, and our server was happy to swap it out. I would definitely come back and try the other items on the menu.
