The Obe Egusi is a delicious stew with pumpkin and veggies over brown rice. I added marinated tofu. Very delicious and the employee was very friendly. There are also places right nearby in the market with beer and other foods and drinks to choose from.

Good selection of vegan food. The food was high quality, but maybe lacking a bit on taste... but the sauces that they have are great and add as much flavor as you want. The sweet potato fries and the best I've had. Alwasy feel better when eating here because I know it's plant based and healthy.

It’s really hard to find a vegetarian menu with African food, but this spot fits the bill and is so tasty! I got the fried plantains which were delicious and generously seasoned, and the taco with mushroom suya which was just the right amount of food as a snack and had such colorful and fun toppings. The service was awesome and employees were so kind — I’ll be back whenever I’m in town!

Super disappointing. The sauce that we ordered for our cassava fries (paid extra for) had mold growing on it. The Obé Ata soup looked nothing like the picture on the menu with no perceivable tomatoes or peppers. The staff replaced the mold sauce and refunded us for the soup. What we did eat was flavorful, but I'm not confident in the freshness of the menu after this experience. Sadly, we won't go back.

What a (bad) experience/place. I ordered, gave a small tip, and waited.. And waited. After a while, the lady working there said she didn't start the grill so the only thing made after about 25-30min were the fries. I ended up having to cancel the order, paid for fries and left annoyed. I looked at my card statement to verify I wasn't charged for the full order only to see that I paid $10 for dry fries because she kept the tip.Good luck ever seeing me come back to this place and I'll forever talk trash about it just to be petty.

Absolutely love this place. In SLO Public Market, so grab your food then a glass of wine or beer to go with it. Burgers and fries are delicious and so are the wraps. I’m a s***** for this spot. #Veganuary

The Veg Edge was exactly what we needed! A super healthy restaurant with food that is delicious and filling for a reasonable price. We were able to meet the owner’s son and he gave us a great experience at this shop. We loved how the dishes were authentic West African and had vegan ingredients. We can’t wait to come back and try more of the items on the menu!

Suya Burger was my first Beyond Meat patty and 10/10 would eat again, every bite was delicious.

I really, really want to give higher points, we need more food diversity and options in this county. I will keep holding out for hope that things improve, unless this was just an extremely odd and rare instance.A few weeks ago I ordered the tofu black rice bowl, first time was excellent, very filling with great taste, and the ratios and overall amount was just perfect. Second time I went this past Sunday, I wanted to try the shiitake súyà bowl, but was told that they ran out of shiitake. At 11:30am. Nevermind that there was a pile of chopped up shiitake on the cutting board. Oookay, guess I'll order the tofu black rice bowl again, because practically everything else on the menu was out. At 11:30am.Good grief, the amount of rice was 2-3x as much as the first time, and there was so. much. oil. I couldn't finish it like I could the first time around in one sitting because of it and the disproportionately insane amount of rice. There was barely any sauce on top of the tofu. I opened it up the next day to eat the leftovers, all of the oil had completely saturated the already sparse lettuce, same thing happened to the rice. I'm so disappointed, I don't know whether the two staff members there need better training or what.

We got the suya bowl, plantains, and suya beyond burger with fries. All amazing! Especially the plantains! Staff was really friendly and they had a soft opening menu!
