The Obe Egusi is a delicious stew with pumpkin and veggies over brown rice. I added marinated tofu. Very delicious and the employee was very friendly. There are also places right nearby in the market with beer and other foods and drinks to choose from.

Good selection of vegan food. The food was high quality, but maybe lacking a bit on taste... but the sauces that they have are great and add as much flavor as you want. The sweet potato fries and the best I've had. Alwasy feel better when eating here because I know it's plant based and healthy.

Absolutely love the peanut stew! So flavorful and delicious!! I add the vegan sausage which makes a very filling meal. I usually get two meals out of one serving unless I'm really hungry. Great place and nice to sit outside and eat.

It’s really hard to find a vegetarian menu with African food, but this spot fits the bill and is so tasty! I got the fried plantains which were delicious and generously seasoned, and the taco with mushroom suya which was just the right amount of food as a snack and had such colorful and fun toppings. The service was awesome and employees were so kind — I’ll be back whenever I’m in town!

I'm sure my timing was slightly off, but good service should always occur. I went in one afternoon at around 3. The SLO public market wasn't particularly busy. I was starving and wanted to make a healthy choice. So, I went here and got a Thai Peanut wrap. The description says beans, rice, veggie blend, and arcadia lettuce. What I got was a tortilla overstuffed with beans and rice and about a tablespoon of wilted, tasteless vegetables. I wish I had taken a picture. The wrap was apparently made early that morning and shoved in a small box that, with condensation, made the tortilla wet and soggy and ripped when I took it out of the box. I returned and asked the girl (who had no other customers) if she could make me a fresh wrap. She said "no" and offered me two other pre-made wraps from the refrigerator. Needless to say, I left angry. I took only a few bites of this gross mess and tossed it. What annoys me is that a 20% tip was added to my bill before I paid. When did this ridiculousness happen? I thought we were supposed to tip after we received service, not before. This person who served me exerted about 1% energy during the transaction. There was NO SERVICE!

Super disappointing. The sauce that we ordered for our cassava fries (paid extra for) had mold growing on it. The Obé Ata soup looked nothing like the picture on the menu with no perceivable tomatoes or peppers. The staff replaced the mold sauce and refunded us for the soup. What we did eat was flavorful, but I'm not confident in the freshness of the menu after this experience. Sadly, we won't go back.

What a (bad) experience/place. I ordered, gave a small tip, and waited.. And waited. After a while, the lady working there said she didn't start the grill so the only thing made after about 25-30min were the fries. I ended up having to cancel the order, paid for fries and left annoyed. I looked at my card statement to verify I wasn't charged for the full order only to see that I paid $10 for dry fries because she kept the tip.Good luck ever seeing me come back to this place and I'll forever talk trash about it just to be petty.

Absolutely love this place. In SLO Public Market, so grab your food then a glass of wine or beer to go with it. Burgers and fries are delicious and so are the wraps. I’m a s***** for this spot. #Veganuary

Hurried over there on Thursday night to be there by 6 PM for a 7 PM closing, and they were nowhere to be seen. Really wish they would post hours when they changed when the website said 7 PM.
