Used to be the best place for south Indian breakfast.Abruptly changed the menue, they no longer serve dosas and reduced the items. The whole vibe changed from the best to good. Still food is the best.

This is an amazing Indian place to go to. There dosas come in a cone that have potato in it and the dosa was very big and appetizing. I have gone here twice and will continue to come. Some of their drinks like the mango drink is great. I will come back here.

I loved Medu vada it was very soft and fluffy which reminds me of my hometown.I loved benne dosa as well it was very crispy and the tomato and coconut chutney combo was mind boggling.
I recommend this place to anyone who wants to feel the vibe of our culture and food.?

Went to San Ramon Idly Express with my friends yesterday evening. Kanjeevaram Idli, masala Vada, Pongal, coffee were tasty.
The girl at the check-in was courteous, and friendly. She walked to our table while we were eating to check if we liked the food.
Great location and enough parking reserved for Idly Express.

This place has made a disastrous decision IMHO. They have closed down the dining options, removed all the dosa options except 2. Reason given was dining is only for Mylapore Restaurant and Idly Express is only for takeout. They should have changed this to Mylapore instead if they cared about consistency AND customer satisfaction. Apparently they don’t care. The one in Pleasanton has long waits and a horrible experience to dine-in and this place was much much better. Disappointed.

First South Indian restaurant who charges for Idli Podi with an order of Idli. Definitely not run by a South Indian otherwise this would not be the case!!

Worstuuu!!!

Focuses more on bringing more people in, resulting in very bad service. They only care about taking the order, do not deliver food on time. Received partial order, waited for more than an hour. Did not get the last part of the order. Had to cancel order after waiting for more than an hour. Not upfront about food being ready or not.

We have been going to Idly express at San Ramon for few weeks regularly now. All of their food is excellent and the best authentic South Indian food in San Ramon/Danville. Snacks they sell are delicious, reasonable and fresh compared to what you can get in indian stores a block away. I know they changed this location to takeout from this week, meaning you order at the cashier or order ahead and pick up or eat at the tables there. Though this is a change, it's not much different from eating at a2b or other indian places. Restaurant tables are still clean and facilities are maintained better than other dine in restaurants. I am glad that they chose to change to take out only and be in San Ramon, rather than making me drive to Pleasanton , sunnyvale or San Jose for nice south Indian food.

Great food. This has been my go-to spot for lunch, where I usually get cheese masala dosa and dine in and always sat on table number 29. However, it seems they have switched to takeout only. The prices have changed, and many items have been removed from the menu. The staff informed me that they no longer offer cheese masala dosa, but they said I could take my food in a takeout container and eat it in the restaurant or anywhere I prefer. I'm sure they have their reasons, but today I officially bid farewell to my favorite lunch spot. I'm currently sitting here, eating from a to-go container. Time to find a new good south-Indian cuisine spot.

I haven't eaten their yet but the food looks bomb I have pick up at the location in San Ramon and everyone I have spoken to said it's. The bomb must eat at this location. I do believe?

Ordered takeout. Got the thatte idli and medhu vada. The idli was soft and vada was hot and crispy. The accompanying chutneys and sambar were good too.
