The sushi is good but popularity has its down side. There have been two occasions where we could not order online and tried calling but no one was able to answer since they're so busy.... So if you're able to get through at a less busy time, the food is good. I also felt that the sushi was fairly priced as opposed to some other places. Tip: ask for ginger on the side as they're standard included is not enough.

Sad to say, it looks like Sakiya Sushi is closed. Too bad! Dumpling 85 is now operating in their old location and is using Sakiya labeled inventory which would indicate Sakiya hasn't merely relocated. The owners might have decided on a change of pace. In any case, if you feel like sushi, keep looking, but if you have a jones for some Shanghai dumplings, give them a try!

Watch the pricing. What was on the menu and what I got charged was drastically different. $3.50 for a beer and was charged $6.50. $29.50 for sashimi combo and I got charged $32.50

3.5 stars Went here on a Saturday night at 6pm and there was no wait. The server was very nice and hospitable. We ordered: Agedashi Tofu - pretty good from the fry to the sauce Chicken Karage - this was more like just fried chicken bites than a traditional karage. House salad - that never came Chicken teriyaki and tempura combo plate - didn't try this but my friend seemed to like it. Haleiwa roll - not bad, I'm not usually a fan of cream cheese and soy paper but this was put together well 49ers roll - This was okay, the lemon slices were really small presentation wise but taste wise it was a good amount of lemon. San Ramon roll - liked this one, all the ingredients made sense together. Overall it was a cute little restaurant and not bad for the East Bay. I have very high standards for Japanese restaurants and usually go to The City or The Peninsula for sushi or good Japanese food, but this one wasn't bad!

I had to come rate them today due to their inconsistency in rates. We always get Philadelphia roll and add salmon on top. Every time we've placed the order, the extra charge has varied from $3,$5,$7 and today I was told it's $8 extra. I'm not talking about the price going up with time, I'm talking about depending on the person who answers sometimes they would say it's $5 extra, sometimes they would say it's $7 extra, and today an outrageous $8 extra just to add salmon on top of our Philadelphia roll. I understand that the prices are going up but to be inconsistent is not an answer.Usually orange blossom rolls have salmon in and salmon out, so just to even substitute tuna with salmon, they charge extra. On top of that, they charge extra for spicy mayo too. Everything is extra! It's too bad because we like the sushi a lot here but their customer service and consistency has gone down the drain. We used to go there multiple times a week but now only go if our new go to sushi place is closed.

Food is good, but as a mom I look forward to going out and want to take my time eating, since that is not a luxury I get at home. While I was there, it was pretty slow and the woman working there sat at the table next to us and was almost rushing us out- taking our plates off our table one at a time, trying to take plates with food still on it. I wouldn't go back there again for that reason.

Food was mediocre and not worth the price. Be prepared to drop close to $100 if you want enough sashimi to feed 2.

Came here for lunch before my daughter's haircut appt at sharky's. This place is mediocre at best and the waitress was more interested in looking at her iPhone than waiting tables . Food was eh

The food looked sad, and some other rolls were falling apart, poorly rolled. A lot of rolls taste the same, not impressed. pricey, slow, long wait…

WHY I CAME HERE: Came here for some sushi with my this place offered outdoor seating and we had a party of 7 people who wants to be Covid safe. Outdoor heat lamp was available but only for one table. This restaurant is in the corner right by Petco. FOOD: (minus 2 stars) Everyone ordered their own entree. I had Sushi Lunch from the menu. It came with soup and salad. The miso soup was good, it had seaweed and tofu. But the salad was really sad looking, it was just plain romaine greens, with salad dressing. No strips of carrot or anything else to make it more presentable, it was so plain, totally straight out of the bag plain. My Sushi Lunch entree on menu noted that it included 5 nigiri, 6 california roll and 6 tuna roll (or so I thought) for $18.95. When food arrived, it was only 5 nigiri & 6 california roll, no tuna roll. When I asked about it, waiter said it would be $1 extra for the tuna (WTF), um, okay. That's weird it was on the menu as part of the meal but whatever, didn't wanna make things difficult so I went along. If the menu is 'CA roll' OR 'tuna roll' as an option, then the waiter should have asked me which roll I wanted when I placed my ordered, right? Totally deceiving. I assumed it was ALL of it from the menu. So beware when you order. Everyone in my party got their order, and let me just say, someone on my table said out loud "This is the SMALLEST meal I have ever had!". No joke, the nigiri were SO tiny. The rice ball underneath the fish was the smallest piece of rice I have ever had in any restaurant I have ever been to. They totally cheap out on their portion. Everyone finished their meal and no one not 100% full. So if you're a big eater, don't come here, u might have to order the whole menu and pay $$$ to feel full. Food quality was not that great, not horrible, nothing spectacular. SERVICE: (minus 1 star) Don't expect any great service here at all. I had to wait for a while to get some paper disposable menus after we sat down on the empty tables outside. No one asked what we wanted to drink and I had to ask the waiter to pls bring us some drinks. Waiter wasn't the friendliest either. Not much of a smile and its New Years. When I ordered, he had to tell me what I saw on the menu isn't the correct price and that they have increased the price but he wasn't clear on what the increase was either. So yeh totally confusing and felt a bit rude to be telling a customer that right when they ordered. Customer service wasn't their priority at all. It just felt like they didn't care about service at all for a restaurant. The place was a bit empty too, only one other table eating inside. Wasn't busy at all on a Saturday lunch. OVERALL: Will I come back again? 100% NOPE. Service needs alot of improvement to make customers feel more welcome. It just felt really cold. Sushi wasn't anything great either and I would much rather go anywhere else for sushi. The other Yelp reviews got me to come here, but I don't believe those reviews. I am a Yelp Elite and this place was NOT good. Save ur money and go somewhere else where you can feel more appreciated as a customer to their business. Our lunch bill for 7 people came out to be $200. Pretty damn pricey for the quality of food and service. No thank you. I usually live taking photos of my food and I did not even get a single shot of my underwhelming food this time. Please improve your service and quality of food.

DO NOT DOOR DASH/THIRD PARTY TAKE OUT HERE. I'm a door dasher and waited outside for 30 minutes because she told me to and they never came and told me my order was ready. DO NOT DO DOOR DASHES HERE. Your food will either be cold or left and unpicked up. The server was brain dead. Told me to wait outside, then never came and told me the order is ready. The store wasn't even busy. No excuse for such lack of intellect

Bog Standard sushi. Average pricing. Quick service. Seems to do great to go business. Hostess was very pleasant and quickly addressed an issue with one of our orders so kudos for that.

Huge portions, delicious food, friendly staff. Sakiya is our go-to Japanese restaurant for lunch, dinner or even an impromptu "hey, wanna grab some sushi?"

Came here with friends the first time and I really liked the sushi and it is decently priced, however, we came in an 1hr before closing and felt rush during our stay. The waiter asked if we wanted the check the first 10min we got there and kept reiterating that "we are closing in 1 hour." Food is good but service was okay.
