Great food as always, but the service was a bit slow and i didn't care for the automatic 20% service charge.
Our first visit in San Ramon. The city center was amazing. We got to experience our di ner with no wait. Service was fantastic. We had a calamari, a shaking beef and a vegetarian meal. All that ate we happy. The shaking beef is normally served medium rare, so if this is not your thing, make sure to ask for it to be prepared to your liking. Seemed a little pricey for this style food, but it was good and we had a great time.

If you close your eyes, you could be eating at any local take out place. Tofu was way overcooked, sauces for every entree was the same. Crazy expensive and ambiance is cold and cavernous.

Went there for a brunch on Saturday and really enjoyed it. The food was excellent, service was very good as well. A great meal, just on the expensive side.
We went for our anniversary! It was so wonderful and worth every penny. Our server was fantastic, genuinely excited to tell us about the food and very attentive without being annoying. 10/10!
We had wanted to go to the Slanted Door in San Ramon for quite some time. We went this past Saturday to celebrate a birthday and I have to say we were all unimpressed. We started with the imperial rolls and they were ok, then we ordered the cellophane noodles with crab and they were really good. We also ordered the chicken clay pot and the 1/2 duck. Those 2 were ok. We were underwhelmed with the food overall except for the cellophane noodles. The service was fine and as it has been mentioned before they automatically charge 20% tip which regardless the size of your party which I find ridiculous. We will not be returning to this place
Loved our dinner at The Slanted Door! The Caramelized Shrimp was bursting with flavor and cooked perfectly, and the Vegeterian Banh Nam starter was a pleasant surprise; rich, fresh, and beautifully balanced. The service was excellent warm, attentive, and perfectly paced. The space has a modern, vibrant feel that makes it great for both date nights and family dinners. Definitely one of the better dining experiences around Dublin/San Ramon!
RUDE & Dismissive Staff! We didn’t get to try the food because the service was extremely disappointing. The restaurant was mostly empty, yet the owner and hostess acted too busy to seat us — it took about 15 minutes. After finally reaching our table, we stood another 10 minutes with our toddler waiting for a high chair that never arrived. We eventually had to leave. The manager (or owner) saw us getting upset and leaving but didn’t make any effort to check on us or offer help. It honestly felt like we weren’t welcome there.

Food was good but was on the pricier side . They have a preset 20% gratuity added on to the bill
We didn't know there was a new brunch menu on Sundays, and there were one or two of our favorite things missing, but we still had a great meal We do remain concerned about what might happen since Charles Phan's death, so we'll have to see what happens over time

This was my first time to this restaurant. Next time I will try the Hamachi collar. The meatballs and the clay post stew and the crispy imperial rolls were all great. The server was very good as well. Just be aware they automatically add a 20% gratuity. We didn't need reservations for a Friday lunch but had them anyway.
I've been here before, several times. The food is amazing, the staff is amazing, the ambience is amazing. It's always a great location for dining.
Very Disappointing. 2of 4 dishes were good - the crab glass noodles and crispy imperial rolls. Dumplings heavy dough with boring stuffing. Chicken clay pot flavorless. & Small portions for the $$price. Restaurant itself-Dull interior. No personality. Poor accoustics so loud and difficult to hear your table conversation. Lastly service? There isnt any. But they charge you 20% service fee! Lots of great restaurants in the East Bay. Dont waste your money and night out here.
Always have a great time at Slanted Door, since their once, and soon again restaurant on Valencia St in SF. The food, wine and drinks are all great. We really enjoy the San Ramon location, Bobby and Mark (the Somm), are really good people and extremely knowledgeable. Mark has made some great recommendations for wine pairing. The Claypot Chicken, Crab Cellophane Noodles, and Crispy Imperial Rolls are a few of my favorites.
It's not all that and more. Over rated and over priced. Drinks were just okay and really small.
