School House Restaurant & Tavern

Came here to celebrate a birthday and was disappointed with the food and the wait time to get our food. There were 3 of us; 2 ordered Fehttuchini and I ordered chicken. Simple. It took about 45 min. To get food. Dining area was about half full, but there was a huge birthday party in the patio. Not sure if this was the reason for the delay. Food was mediocre, chicken was too salty and a little dry. The fettuccini was not a hit with the 2 others as they noted “too salty”. The shrimp was included on the dish and it was “small” and not “enough”.
We each had 1 drink … glass of wine and 2 pomegranate margaritas. When it was time to get the bill, I told the server we had a birthday girl at the table, thinking we’d get 1 scoop of ice cream as a compliment like some establishments do. Server came back with a dessert menu instead, so we opted for a $15 dessert instead.

First time here. The old schoolhouse vibe was very cool. Hostess and server were awesome. Cocktails were nice. Pork loin was awesome. Cooked perfectly, moist and tasty. This is gonna be one of my favorites.

Delicious! Super kind service for a table for three with no reservation — we decided to sit in the tavern side to have access to a more pub food options menu. Totally fantastic all around. Great food, great people. Mike G. took super good care of our table and was friendly and informative. So sad to have missed Pistachio Week, but the Pork Loin with pistachio crust was still available — Get it if you can!! 😊 ❤️

Love the School House. We come a few times a month. Food and drink are excellent. Service always good. I ordered the center cut filet for the first time ever. It was good but not great, but ok. The side of potatoes was great and the sauce fantastic. The meat itself was not as tender as hoped for a it had a touch of gristle. Hence a slight down grade from 5. Regardless, I recommend the School House for an enjoyable experience.

When I thought of a restraunt in a school, I was expecting some gross cafeteria slop. Not this place! The food was elegant yet simple and had a nice taste to it. The wagyu burger was perfectly cooked, and the atmosphere was impeccable. If you are ever driving back from Kings Canyon, plz stop here and save yourself the misery of figuring out where to go eat.

Absolutely delicious. We had fabulous service and the experience was great. Highly recommend trying it out as it has become one of our new favorites.

This restaurant has the knotty atmosphere of a low end Knots Berry Farm. The food is unremarkable and plain. My pasta was undercooked and my companion's steak was overcooked. I won't return.

The appetizers, dinner, drinks, and desserts were all so delicious! You have got to try the award winning Wagyu burger it will make your tastebuds dance!
