My wife and I visited Gainey as it was recommended by the hotel. The wines were great, they had live music by a gentlemen with a superb voice, and the service by x was excellent. from the moment we walked in we felt 5 star. Our som Blake was the best!
Beautiful outdoor tasting patio overlooking their vineyard. Well worth the stop if you are visiting nearby Solvang CA. We didn't know what to expect as far as quality of wines in this area but were pleasantly surprised by the calibar of wines poured. We even enjoyed the Pinot Noir even though we are not usually fans of that varietal. We visited mid week in late October and the weather was perfect.
One of my absolute favorite spots in the Santa Ynez Valley. The views are absolutely stunning and it's perfect for a relaxing afternoon with a glass of wine in hand. The atmosphere is peaceful and welcoming, and the wines are consistently excellent. Whether you’re bringing out-of-town guests or just looking for a beautiful place to unwind, this winery never disappoints.
Party of 14 for Bday celebration. Called a few days in advance to make reservations we were told none were needed if we show up early. Arrived early the day of our tasting/bday celebration on 10-11-25 and were told by two ladies at the front desk that reservations were needed for a table. This was not what was expressed over the phone days before. We ended up staying because we were already there. We bought 3 bottles, took our own glasses and bottles to area where we sat on chairs. Had to scramble to get 14 chairs together. We were never offered water or checked on. Not the best customer service. I had visited before in my own and felt welcomed however this time around was definitely not a welcoming feeling.
Amazing
A wonderful tasting experience - stunning scenery and ambiance, excellent selection for tasting and really knowledgeable staff. We learned a lot about the varietals and ended up getting a wine club membership because we loved them all. Ray was awesome and absolutely made our day! Def recommend stopping by.
Great wine, great service, great scenery! Love this place!
Lovely way to spend an afternoon (or anytime!). Beaut wines to taste and great outdoor seating areas. Booking wasn’t needed but probably would in weekends.
Absolutely delightful first visit!
This was our first time at Gainey Estate Vineyard and we instantly fell in love with the place — the aesthetic is charming and beautifully maintained. Our host, Holland, was beyond amazing! Midway through the tasting, I mentioned it was my husband’s first wine tasting and that he had brought me here for our anniversary. Holland surprised us with a little something (won’t spoil it!) that made the experience even more special. We were so impressed, we ended up becoming members — well, my husband said yes… go figure! 😄 Needless to say, this is now our go-to vineyard. Thank you, Holland, for making our day unforgettable!
This vineyards is quite lovely and chill. The outdoor patio is very spacious. Inside is very nice and clean. We stopped by on the way back to our home and enjoy this beautiful view of this vineyard.

Nice winery but as others have posted, the sales pitch for the wine club really ruins the vibe. There are only two other places I’ve felt this much sales pressure and that’s car dealers and timeshare presentations.
Sales pitch started before we were even seated and proceeded from there. Heard the pitch 5+ times and felt pressured to say yes. Just not a conducive atmosphere to relax and enjoy an afternoon of tasting, especially coming immediately off a prior vineyard tasting experience that was just the opposite with no agenda. You have a wine club that offers benefits-I got it on the first pitch and you gave me the brochure explaining the program-I don’t need four or five more pitches. Let your customers relax and enjoy the wine and atmosphere without feeling like they’re at a timeshare presentation.
Really poor experience on Saturday. Server was rude and he only brought the tasting menu after asking multiple times and following our third pour. That wouldn't be an issue if he actually told us what we were drinking. He also gave people a hard time if they were there as a DD and not tasting. Will absolutely not be back ever.
We kicked off a Solvang trip with friends in August by visiting Gainey Estate Vineyards. We didn't get a chance to walk around too much but the grounds looked lovely.
We had made a reservation ahead of time and were seated in the barrel room which was quite nice. We pretty much had the place to ourselves the whole time which surprised me for a Friday. Our server was pleasant and knowledgeable and the wines were all great. We also enjoyed a small charcuterie plate - the warm demi baguette and fig jam were especially yummy.
Very rude stuff, weird tasting arrangement
Let me start by saying my wife said the wine was amazing. She only had half the flight before we walked out. Before you even sit down you pay and tip. But then the guy pushes the wine club on my wife before she even has a glass in her hand. Then he pours her a taste and brings it up again and pushes the pamphlet in front of her. We shrugged it off. 20 minutes later he finally comes back and back to the wine club talk and now pushing a $35 cheese board. He explained nothing to my wife of what notes to look for in the wine but he knew all about the wine club. He'd just say it's from Santa Rita hills 18 miles away and then back to the wine club. It was not busy and the wait was long. Your my first 1 star winery. An we've been to over a 100 wineries easily throughout the years from Temecula to northern oregon. You kinda ruined our day Instead of ending it on a happy note of wine tastings for my wife.
