We had such a great experience at Gainey Vineyards thanks to Jay. He was incredibly knowledgeable, polite, and genuinely kind—never rushed us and explained everything in a way that made the tasting even more enjoyable. His wine recommendations were spot-on, and he also gave us fantastic suggestions for restaurants in the area, which we really appreciated. Jay made the visit feel personal and welcoming. If you’re tasting here, hope you’re lucky enough to get him!
If you want to have a great tasting you should find Blake!
Excellent atmosphere in the tasting room with live soft music played by an acoustic guitar while surrounded by wine barrels.
My experience at Gainey Vineyard was everything I could have asked for as my very first wine tasting. We stayed at Hotel Corque, which included a complimentary wine tasting at Gainey Vineyard, such a lovely perk.
When we arrived, we were greeted by Sarah, who assisted us throughout our tasting. She was incredibly knowledgeable and descriptive, making the experience both enjoyable and easy to understand. We ordered bread and olive oil from the snack menu, but since the winery was closing in about 30 minutes, the oven had already been turned off. Sarah kindly offered us complimentary prepackaged snacks from the front, which was such a thoughtful and impactful gesture.
At the end of our tasting, Sarah offered us a complimentary glass of wine so we could walk around and enjoy the beautiful outdoor property. While we were outside under the giant oak tree, my boyfriend surprised me by proposing. It was such a magical and unforgettable moment.
After the proposal, we went back inside and all of the staff celebrated with us. They were so excited and even gifted us a complimentary bottle of wine of our choosing. I truly could not have asked for a better experience.
If you visit Gainey Vineyard, ask for Sarah she provides exceptional service and genuine kindness that makes the experience truly pecial.
We stopped by on Friday on a whim while visiting the near by Solvang area. Our server Cami was very welcoming sweet & kind. She made experience enjoyable and checked in with us throughout. Overall our experience was great it was a relaxed atmosphere and we tried some great wines, we ended up getting a bottle of the Syrah to take with us. The Sauvignon Blanc and Pino Noir also deserve an honorable mention. We would definitely return if ever in the area again.
Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. Mark was GREAT! He made great recommendations, had lovely stories, and was very enthusiastic about the different wines presented. Would definitely recommend a stop here if you're in the area.
My wife and I visited Gainey as it was recommended by the hotel. The wines were great, they had live music by a gentlemen with a superb voice, and the service by x was excellent. from the moment we walked in we felt 5 star. Our som Blake was the best!
Beautiful outdoor tasting patio overlooking their vineyard. Well worth the stop if you are visiting nearby Solvang CA. We didn't know what to expect as far as quality of wines in this area but were pleasantly surprised by the calibar of wines poured. We even enjoyed the Pinot Noir even though we are not usually fans of that varietal. We visited mid week in late October and the weather was perfect.
One of my absolute favorite spots in the Santa Ynez Valley. The views are absolutely stunning and it's perfect for a relaxing afternoon with a glass of wine in hand. The atmosphere is peaceful and welcoming, and the wines are consistently excellent. Whether you’re bringing out-of-town guests or just looking for a beautiful place to unwind, this winery never disappoints.
Party of 14 for Bday celebration. Called a few days in advance to make reservations we were told none were needed if we show up early. Arrived early the day of our tasting/bday celebration on 10-11-25 and were told by two ladies at the front desk that reservations were needed for a table. This was not what was expressed over the phone days before. We ended up staying because we were already there. We bought 3 bottles, took our own glasses and bottles to area where we sat on chairs. Had to scramble to get 14 chairs together. We were never offered water or checked on. Not the best customer service. I had visited before in my own and felt welcomed however this time around was definitely not a welcoming feeling.

Amazing
A wonderful tasting experience - stunning scenery and ambiance, excellent selection for tasting and really knowledgeable staff. We learned a lot about the varietals and ended up getting a wine club membership because we loved them all. Ray was awesome and absolutely made our day! Def recommend stopping by.
Great wine, great service, great scenery! Love this place!
Lovely way to spend an afternoon (or anytime!). Beaut wines to taste and great outdoor seating areas. Booking wasn’t needed but probably would in weekends.
Absolutely delightful first visit!
This was our first time at Gainey Estate Vineyard and we instantly fell in love with the place — the aesthetic is charming and beautifully maintained. Our host, Holland, was beyond amazing! Midway through the tasting, I mentioned it was my husband’s first wine tasting and that he had brought me here for our anniversary. Holland surprised us with a little something (won’t spoil it!) that made the experience even more special. We were so impressed, we ended up becoming members — well, my husband said yes… go figure! 😄 Needless to say, this is now our go-to vineyard. Thank you, Holland, for making our day unforgettable!
