Beautiful restaurant, great experience. Food was incredible!! Service was quite slow, but I'd still go back!
Amazing food! Must visit. Cocktails are delicious. I had the back garden but substituted with Mezcal.
We had a wonderful experience over the weekend. We sat at the bar for a bit because we arrived earlier than our reservation and everyone was awesome, the hostess, the bartenders, and our server Sarae did a fantastic job! We ordered the Caesar salad, warm octopus salad, mushroom pappardelle and salmon. All were 5 stars!
A wonderful experience from cocktails through to dessert. Great drinks, delicious food & our server was so.friendly & adorable.
What a gem! We stopped by for a one-course lunch and both ordered pasta. A classic spaghetti with clams, and a seasonal squash-stuffed tortelloni. We also enjoyed a starter of plump olives, and focaccia served with chili, fine butter and tasty olive oil. Having done a lot of wine tasting the day before, we shared one glass of local Chardonnay from their detailed, well-thought-out list. Everything was perfect. Service was warm. The dishes were so flavorful. We just got a taste of this place and so look forward to returning!
We had an exceptional dinner with great service. The restaurant kindly accommodated a table change due to a draft. We will go again soon.
SY Kitchen was delicious. The seasonal menu was spot on. The flavors were robust and delightful. And the ambiance was superb.
Love this spot! This was my fourth time here and of course everything was great! The octopus salad is so delicious, the mushroom pasta the noodles are 10/10!
Their panna cotta is the best desert! I’ve had the pistachio crème brûlée before and that was so good too honestly everything I’ve tried has been good! I also love how cozy the vibes are. I also never write reviews but I had to shout this place out because it’s my favorite every-time I come to the area!

While in Santa Ynez we were looking for a good Italian restaurant. SY Kitchen did not disappoint! We had a party of 8 and everyone raved about their meals. Some of the menu items ordered were the Margarita Pizza, Butternut Soup (evening special), Pappardelle pasta with mushrooms, Butternut Tortelli and Kale salad. Everything was fabulous!

Almost everyone we asked about local places said to go to SY. I don’t understand it. The food and the service were good, but not as fantastic as everyone said. Our table for three was jammed in between the kitchen and the outdoor dining area, the door to which was opened about every minute allowing the hot air to blow in (it was during a heat wave so outdoor temps were in the 90s) and an almost constant flow of wait staff - not a relaxing time. The cocktails were first class, yummy and creative. Appetizers were good but not that special. One of us had a special salad with prawns, one of the two prawns should not have made it out of the kitchen - inedible and probably not even safe. It was mushy and did not hold together. The replacement arrived so late as to be useless. Not the waitress’ fault but added to a less-than-pleasant experience.
The restaurant layout is poor and needs to be fixed. Having staff going through the outdoor seating to reach some of the indoor, and going through indoor seating to serve outdoors is bad planning. The best option would be to enclose and air condition the outdoor area, get rid of the doors between areas and only open windows when the weather is nice. The table at which we sat should be eliminated - an unacceptable place to put diners.
The structural problems and the failure of the kitchen were both serious problems. We won’t be back.

We came in for a bachelorette dinner on Friday, October 24th in the private upstairs room. Our group (and more importantly, the bride-to-be) had the best time. The food was exceptional, the drinks were delicious (and always full), and the service was A+++. Will be recommending to all our friends. Thanks again for a wonderful time!
