It was great as always but was extremely disappointed to find the kale salad was off the menu.
The food was 10 out of 10! I had burrata and roasted cauliflower for a starter and the special which was spinach pappardelle with porcini mushrooms and shaved truffles. My husband had the wagyu meatballs to start and the Gigli al Ropeton as an entree. Everything was delicious! Our waiter Ernesto was wonderful! Very pleasant, professional and was well versed on the menu items, ingredients, etc. There was very little wait time. Overall fantastic dining experience. We would definitely come back!
We've been to SY Kitchen before and based on that experience we decided to go back for my birthday. And we are glad we did. Like before we started off with two Smoked Old Fashioned's. They are our favorite Old Fashioneds. Then we continued on like last time with the Wagyu Meatballs and Toasted Bob's Well Bread. Simply delicious. My wife opted for the same pasta she had before, the Giglia Al Ropeton, and I ordered the special of the night, the Bone-In Filet. They both were simply amazing, and filling. So much so that we didn't have room for a birthday dessert. Regardless, we completely enjoyed the dinner and we'll definitely be going back.
SY Kitchen is consistently good! Great service with an intentional menu. It's a must visit when in the SY Valley.
Excellent evening at SY Kitchen! Seated timely and great service throughout the night. Loved everything we got - particularly the Prosciutto Burrata appetizer! Other favorites included the El Viejo (spicy drink), the Gigli Al Ropeton (sausage pasta) and the Tahitian Vanilla Panna Cotta. Highly recommended!
Great setting. Great food. Great service. Nice cocktails. Our group ordered onion soup special, globe artichoke appetizer, Gigli Al Ropeton pasta, Alaskan Halibut special, yellow beet salad, lamb special and burrata & sausage pizza. All meals were delicious and beautifully presented. I would say our favorites were the yellow beet salad, Alaskan Halibut special and Gigli Al Ropeton pasta. I would not order the burrata & sausage pizza again as it was served on the cold side and the crust was not crispy. There are way too many other items to order that are much better. I highly recommend dining at this restaurant!
The highlight of all meals I’ve had in the Santa Ynez valley. So reliably delicious with amazing service.

Very tasty Italian food, very hospitable staff, but expensive and the portion sizes are small. We tried the roasted cauliflower and the minestrone soup. The minestrone soup was excellent, hearty and had fresh ingredients. The cauliflower was good but the portion size was very small. It had only few pieces of cauliflower and a small amount of cheese for $22. For the main dish, we had the wild mushroom pappardelle: the pasta was al dente and was tasty. Against, the portion size was small ($29). Note it had no meat or chicken. We also tried the Faraday pizza which was good with two kinds of cheeses and caramelized onions, but the onions were burnt. The size was medium. Usually, you get a larger size. For dessert we had the pistachio crème brûlée which was delicious and innovative. The service was excellent. The prices are high ($60-$70 per person for a soup or salad and main dish). Reservation is highly recommended as it is very busy (during dinner) even on weekdays, especially after 6 pm. We were able to get a table without reservation because we came early. Tasty food, and excellent service but need to reduce the prices and increase the portion size.
Vegetarian options: Wild mushroom pappardelle.
Parking: Easy to park in front of the restaurant.

Amazing food and incredible service! Will be coming back!
I found out about this quaint restaurant through suggestions on yelp. It had ranked it very highly and it was located, conveniently on the way towards Solvang. The restaurant ambience was nice during lunchtime, and there was ample parking outside. The server graciously offered us a basket of bread while we were waiting (I found out later we were charged $9 for it). My partner ordered octopus salad and I had ordered cacio e pepe pasta. The octopus salad was decent but the pasta was not restaurant ready. The fifteen to twenty ritz cracker sized ravioli arrived soaking in what tasted like tap water with 1/2 cube of Knorr chicken stock. They charged $28 for the pasta and all I could think when I left was that I could have gone to Trader Joe’s instead.

We arrived 20 mins prior to our 8:30 pm. dinner reservation, and waited outside on the comfy patio set surrounding a fire. The bustling commotion inside was not appealing to my wife and I, so we were happy to wait outside. We were seated a few mins early in a comfy, padded booth seating area outside. The table ambiance included candles and flowers in a vase on the table, with area heaters on the wall nearby, if desired. The staff was professional and courteous. The dinner and dessert were tasty, but the portion sizes of the dinners were a little less than desired. We each had our own dessert to satisfy our remaining appetite and menu curiosity. All in all, the "upscale" accoutrements cost us $175 for 3 people (no alcoholic beverages), which felt a bit higher than it was worth, but we would gladly go again!
The vibe and the decor was beautiful in an old farm house. The server was very friendly. Although for the fish special he told us and tables around us was that the fish was “two filets of arctic char” but when it came out it was one filet. Which was more than enough but I wasn't sure why he kept saying two. Also, our homemade mushroom pappardelle was in delicious flavor but the noodles were sooooo clumped together it was like chewing through 4 layers of noodles for half the dish. So that part was a let down as we'd only heard rave reviews about the place. But again, the flavors were great - and the fish was well cooked. Overall, positive experience but a few aspects of the food (which is the most important part) were a bit disappointing.
