While in Santa Ynez we were looking for a good Italian restaurant. SY Kitchen did not disappoint! We had a party of 8 and everyone raved about their meals. Some of the menu items ordered were the Margarita Pizza, Butternut Soup (evening special), Pappardelle pasta with mushrooms, Butternut Tortelli and Kale salad. Everything was fabulous!
Almost everyone we asked about local places said to go to SY. I don’t understand it. The food and the service were good, but not as fantastic as everyone said. Our table for three was jammed in between the kitchen and the outdoor dining area, the door to which was opened about every minute allowing the hot air to blow in (it was during a heat wave so outdoor temps were in the 90s) and an almost constant flow of wait staff - not a relaxing time.
