This is a little sandwich heaven nestled in Santa ynez. Escape the touristy Solvang for an incredible sandwich or even some out of the ordinary snacks. I popped in today for a little thank you gift for our hosts and not only did I find some fun treats but they put them into a beautiful basket for me above and beyond. We love this gem and will be back!

Our food was great (turkey sandwich and 2x2 plate), but we ordered online at 9am for 11:15am pickup because we had a noon reservation at a winery. We checked in upon arrival and the woman was extremely rude, and then the food wasn't ready until 11:45am. Other folks were asking for refunds bc they needed to leave and couldn't wait any longer, and some folks left without ordering after waiting 15-20mins. I understand that things can go awry and timings can be off, but I dont think that justifies being rude to customers.

Great Turkey sandwich as I get that every other Saturday. Very cool outdoor area to see the mountains. Aidan always make a great sandwich, thanks to the chef.
Ordered a charcuterie platter to go. Great quality and selection, perfect for wine tasting. Their bread was outstanding, too.
Great food and beautiful views! Pastrami and Turkey Sandwiches were delicious.
Ben wanting to visit Lucky Hen for a few years. Finally got the chance today. Ordered the chicken sandwich and could not be happier. In fact, I only ate half of it, and took the rest home to have later. 100% worth stopping to try.
A gorgeous view of rolling gold hills while you enjoy an exceptional caprese sandwich on a baguette, or a decadent cheese board with always-changing selections? Count me in. I enjoyed every minute, and every bite
I’ll keep it simple …. BEST sandwiches EVER!

Ordered a chicken salad sandwich with curry, pastrami sandwich and potato salad. The chicken salad was pretty mediocre. My husband’s pastrami was nearly inedible. He could only eat half of it and he is NOT a picky eater. The potato salad and slaw are both laced with heavily pickled veggies that overpower everything in the salads. We had to wait 20 minutes at least before reminding them we hadn’t received our food. It was $45.00 for two sandwiches that would have been better at a supermarket.

One of the best sandwiches I’ve had! ?
TL;DR: outstanding ingredients, loved their turkey sandwich, delicious focaccia. Outdoor seating. ~$15-19 per sandwich. Does take a bit of time to be made, so order ahead!
Lucky Hen Larder has a variety of hot and cold sandwiches, generally served on their house focaccia or ciabatta breads. They also serve up ready-to-eat and pre-packaged Charcuterie foods, such as cured meats and cheeses.
All the sandwich options looked excellent, but I ended up going with their famous Turkey sandwich on focaccia, that featured thin turkey slices, crispy pancetta, rosemary aioli, cranberry-fig compote, triple cream brie, and arugula.
Already from the ingredient list you can tell it was going to be good, but this sandwich was truly excellent. All of the ingredients meshed perfectly, from the saltiness of the bread and turkey, to the creaminess of the Brie, to the sweetness of the cranberry-fig compote.
Would definitely come back again, but keep in mind it takes about 20-25 minutes to get your sandwich, so you may benefit from ordering ahead. Outdoor seating only. I paid ~$15 for my sandwich - totally worth it!

OMG this was seriously the BEST turkey sandwich I have ever had in my life. And that’s saying a lot. Lots of turkey on focaccia with thick slabs of Brie and jam. I was in heaven. Prices aren’t cheap, but it was worth it. Go here…you will be so happy you did.

Ordered 2 sandwiches, one was delicious, the other inedible. Bread was so hard we were unable to bite through, had to throw away. Disappointing as the food was not cheap.
