This is simply the best taco shop in Southern California. It's that spotlessly clean hole in the wall that everyone wishes they knew about. Always busy because the food is fresh, perfectly spiced, hot and simply authentic mexican deliciousness. I live in Los Angeles but whenever I am in San Diego visiting my parents it is my first stop! You will never be sorry and you will figure out a way to come back often. I order the beef tacos, refried beans with a dr.pepper or I order the roll tacos.

I looooooooooooove this specific Cotijas location. It's the BEST. Get a carne asada burrito and ask them to cook the salsa with the meat. It will be the best burrito you will ever have.

I think this place buys their good reviews because this was some of the worst tasting food and worst service I have experienced at a Mexican restaurant. Annie gave me the completely wrong order. The food tasted bland and looked like something you would get in a school cafeteria. The photo is what the “chicken” sope looks like.

Stopped by on a whim since our regular spot wasn’t open until 8am. We were warmly greeted and they graciously accommodated our request for cheese on only half of our breakfast burrito. 😅 We went with the hashbrown burrito and were delighted to find it well proportioned with generous portions of meat. Salsas are delicious and the cleanliness of the restaurant is assuring. Will definitely be back!! Next time I’ll take pictures, I was too eager this time. Lol

This place was so good a couple years ago. It sucks now! Way too expensive and you get half the amount of poor quality food. I'm very disappointed. The people that work there are nice for the most part but that isn't enough to keep me going back. I just paid $14 for this tiny burrito. Unacceptable. If I'm paying that much for a burrito at least make it an appropriate size.
