I’ve had some good tamales here and also enjoyed the chill relleno. On my last visit, I was a little disappointed to find two carrot in sticks in my tamale and seeds not removed from my jalapeño pepper.

@cotijas_santee offers a wide variety of delicious Mexican dishes, serving everything from chicken and beef to seafood. The portions are generous, and I loved that the food wasn’t too salty or oily — just perfectly balanced in flavor. The staff was also very friendly, even with how busy it gets.
I highly recommend giving them a try if you’re in the Santee area, my fav was the surf and turf fries 😋😋
